Visited in August 2024. Perú. Cusco. Chull’s Restaurant, housed in a beautiful old colonial building, occupies a charming patio and a small interior space. Situated near the ruins of the Coricancha Temple, it is a visually stunning location. With glowing reviews, we couldn't miss the opportunity to dine here.
Food: We opted for one appetizer and several main courses. It was interesting to see that in Cusco, you can sample different kinds of meat, like alpaca or guinea pig, so we chose dishes to try something new. The alpaca skewers, for instance, were delicious, although the meat is less tender than beef. Nonetheless, it was tasty, and the side dish was cooked perfectly. We then enjoyed a hearty soup with a rich broth, various meats, and potatoes. We rarely order soups, but this one was truly enjoyable.
There was a slight mishap when, instead of guinea pig, we were served regular pork. It was good, but not what I wanted, and the meat was a bit dry, despite some pieces containing an excessive amount of fat. We ended up leaving this dish. We loved the chicken curry with rice – the rich curry sauce was flavorful, not spicy, and the tender chicken blended perfectly with the beautifully cooked rice.
Service: Our waiter, Miguel, provided excellent service. He spoke English fluently, took good care of us, and constantly checked if everything was to our liking. Even though he made a slight mistake with our dish, it didn't detract from the overall impression of the restaurant and service. Miguel's genuine concern for our enjoyment was greatly appreciated.
Conclusion: This is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food and outstanding service. It definitely ranks among the best in the city. If you want to enjoy a wonderful evening, trying Peruvian cuisine at a high-quality restaurant, this is the place for you. We thoroughly...
Read moreChull's was absolutely fantastic!
We arrived around 7:30 on a chilly May evening. The friendly staff noticed that only one of us spoke any Spanish and so sent Alberto over to help us out. He was wonderful ... offering advice on the menu and later quickly resolving a minor kitchen mixup with one of our entrees.
Our group of 4 chose 4 different cocktails, 4 different entrees, and 2 different desserts. Every single item was outstanding!
The bartender created a unique (and utterly delicious) Mai Tai that included a dash of Pisco. Even the basic Old Fashioned was remarkable. When we told Alberto how much we were enjoying the cocktails, he went to the bartender to bring back detailed recipes so we could recreate them once we returned home. Now that's customer service!
Our entrees included the Chili Chicken (just as amazing as other reviewers have mentioned), the Osso Bucco (as good as we've had at 4-star restaurants in the states), and two different beef tenderloin dishes that melted in our mouths.
When it came time for dessert, Alberto recommended the house specialty: quinoa flipped cream. Don't let the name frighten you. The preparation turns the quinoa into something like a flan ... structured and yet creamy. The fresh strawberries added an excellent touch of sweetness. Chull's version of our go-to dessert (chocolate cake) was also terrific.
Overall, we loved our...
Read moreChulls is one of Cusco’s best-kept secrets — a perfect blend of vibrant energy, creative cocktails, and incredible food. Whether you’re starting your night out or winding down with good company, this place knows how to deliver an unforgettable experience.
The vibe is effortlessly cool — cozy lighting, great music, and a lively yet intimate atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. Their cocktail menu is unique and bold (the pisco-based drinks are a must!), and the bartenders clearly know their craft.
The food surprised me — not just bar bites, but flavorful, beautifully presented dishes with real attention to detail. From crispy starters to hearty mains, everything we tried was fresh and satisfying.
What really sets Chulls apart, though, is the service. Friendly, attentive staff who genuinely want you to have a great time — it’s the kind of place where locals and travelers mingle with ease.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy the heart and soul of Cusco nightlife with...
