We measured this as a restaurant in a 5 star hotel (i.e. a pretty high bar akin to a restaurant trying to be a Michelin).
We had the tasting menu. The food was mixed. The trout was fantastic, the prawn was slightly overcooked but the recipe with saffron was great, the salmon was overcooked, and the lamb was cooked right but didn't have any juice and lacked flavor (likely a function of the quality of the meat itself / poor sourcing). The desert was fabulous. Overall, with the exception of the prawn, nothing was prepared in a creative or unique manner.
The wine pairings were surprisingly good (Peru is not exactly known for its great wines). The malbec blend stood out.
The service was very kind and professional, albeit lacking some of the refinement of what this restaurant aspires to be.
The building is beautiful, but the restaurant itself (like the food), lacks any creativity or imagination. If you imagined the room without the tables, it would be almost comically unattractive.
The tables are very awkward and uncomfortable due to the table legs cramming against your legs (unless you're quite short).
Overall, we enjoyed our dinner but...
Read moreLocated inside of the Palacio del Inka hotel, this restaurant was our breakfast spot each morning and we were invited for dinner on the last night of our stay, so we decided to give it a try for a Friday night dinner.
The service was very attentive, as both the server and sommelier were helpful and worked hard to make our last night at the hotel one that we would remember.
The food was delicious, and there were a number of things that we wanted to try. The tasting menu was 120 S, and 180 S with wine pairings. We were very tempted, but decided to order a la carte. I had the quinoa soup and rack of Alpaca, and N had the sea bass ceviche and the river trout. My soup had big chunks of lamb in it and was very tasty. The Alpaca was a new experience and glad that I was able to try it while in Cusco. It is very similar to Bison, in that it is more lean than beef, and when accompanied by Inti Raymi’s nice sauce, is quite tasty. The ceviche was good, but not great, and N really liked her trout.
It’s a great setting for a more formal dinner in Cusco, and we’d definitely...

OVERALL: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Drinks: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5
We were tired after we got to Cusco, so decided to just stay in for dinner. So glad we did that. The food was amazing and the service outstanding.
We tried … Bread Basket - A variety of delicious warm breads served with butter and olive oil Creamy Leek Soup - One of best that I have had in a while Grilled Seabass - Loved the presentation. The fish was served and they poured the sauce on the fish at the table. Traditional Chicken Stew - Very mild Tagliatelle Pasta with Arrabiata Sauce - Quite spicy.
Was not too happy with the wine selection (by the glass). We all wanted different (bubbly/white/red) wines and only the person ordering white wine was happy with their wine.
Over all a great experience.
