Dossis — Restaurant in Lima Metropolitan Area

This is the third and last time that I go to this restaurant. This last visit was terrible, the other two were just a little bit better, but I was in such great company that all I can remember is the live music. We arrived at the restaurant and there was a very young lady at the door who greeted us and just stared instead of asking, "table for 2?". We finally made it inside and saw a nice table that had a couch and asked if we could sit there, the lady said that was the owner's table and it was reserved (never had I heard something as ridiculous). We finally sat down, ordered some appetizers and a bottle of wine. The music was a bit loud so we had to raise our voices to speak to the waiter. When the waiter brought the bottle of wine, he uncorked it with very little experience (the wrap around the cork area was cut poorly) and then he served it. No prior tasting and filled up half the glass by pouring it poorly, both glasses left stains on the table.

When we were ready to order the main dishes, we called the waiter and he said that the kitchen had closed. We were confused, annoyed and hungry. I thought it was a common practice to ask your customers if they wanted to order some extra food because the kitchen was closing. We were extremely angry and hungry, so we asked for the check, packed up the bottle and left.

I personally choose this place for the salsa night! My friends and I went on a Tuesday night (cover 25 soles or $8) and the restaurant is big enough to be able to dance. The food was really good, we ordered two pizzas and they were quite good! Also the server recommended a bottle of wine and it was delicious. Our sever was very attentive and the atmosphere is good for a dancing night. The music of the live group was really good and the singer was great, tho the volume of the music could be some disrupting if you’re not use to live music. Loved the ambiance of this bar, it has cozy dim lights. We were at the wine salon where there’s live music, and loved the concept of having a wall full of different types of wine where you can try all you want just by charging a prepaid card at the cashier.
