Always an experience. The ambiance, interior and decor captures a hacienda from bygone times. Professional waiters that have been there for decades. And so has the menu, with a few additions in the seafood department. I had never needed a lunch reservation but this time of the year, with holidays looming, office holiday lunches are de rigeur. So a packed restaurant is never a good thing: kitchen is on overdrive and waiters in spite of their experience are frazzled. Read moreThis is the second time I have visited Jose Antonio in my last two trips to Lima. Awesome, traditional, Peruvian cuisine. We brought a couple of amazing red wines and had a couple of great dishes. We had the special mix plate, Lomo Saltado, and Recoto Relleno.
I highly recommend the anticuchos de corazon, they are ridiculously awesome. The one dish that will always keep me coming back is the Rocoto Relleno. It is spicy, sweet, and has an awesome comforting flavor to it.
