You have to eat here if you come to Lima. It is by far the freshest the best seafood you can get possibly anywhere in the world being connected to the markets that they are. And make sure you get there early enough to get first choice on that board or else those fish start disappearing pretty soon.

This was the first time ever in my life I had a whole roasted stingray and it changed my life. I've wondered why I've not had this ever in my life before being a humongous food fan. I've had skate wing but never a whole roasted stingray.

The multiple different type of preparations they can do on everything are wonderful. The razor clams we had two different preparations and the ceviche was terrific. Definitely on par with some of the best ceviche in the city.

I was taking here by my friends who live in the city and after coming to Lima around 14 times this was the first time I've been here and I plan on visiting it every time I come from now on.

I highly recommend this place, and if your adventurous try some of the interesting fish you've never had in your life on their board. I guarantee you you won't go wrong with any choice.

EDIT 10/4/2023: We returned here this past week, when I returned to Lima. You ask why, and I will only answer that it might be the BEST SEAFOOD in Lima! I know that's a big call, but it is wildly good and I will come here every time I come back to Lima. This time we had the 6.5# lobster, a whole crab ceviche, oysters in 2 preparations, and the soup at the beginning is an epiphany!

If you come to Lima and you don't come here, I would just have to wonder if you're allergic to seafood. This place is a gem within an entire...

In the areas surrounding the municipality and police station, of what we could call Surquillo Pueblo, we can find several very interesting restaurants, but nothing more outstanding than La Picantería, about which I had already been told and being circumstantially in the area I took the opportunity to meet him. so I will only describe what I was able to verify for now. In the area there is a parking deficit, so this should not represent any demerit, you have to adapt to the spaces that could be found in the front of the place that is well cared for by a man in charge of it, or go by taxi. On the track they have set up a small area with 3 to 4 tables delimited as a perimeter fence with plant pots and that would be the external part in the open air. To enter it is necessary to have a reservation, and according to Jazmín, the girl who attended us, it is advisable to request it a week in advance. However, he was kind enough to let us in to see the interior, being able to observe an old house with high ceilings with small rooms and the main room with more space where the fresh fish are packed with plenty of ice so that attendees can choose and request preparation to your liking. The review will continue on our next visit, which will surely be very soon. Fine dining, friendly atmosphere, surrounded by trees and shrubs. Light music, delicious dishes, variety of sea food , hyigene. Clean crockery, brunch, lunch. Dinner and types of quality food ample space for remarkable dining experience multi cuisine, and lot of...

La Picanteria is a fantastic restaurant that serves up some of the most delicious and authentic Peruvian cuisine I have ever tasted. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with warm and friendly service that makes you feel right at home.

The menu at La Picanteria is extensive and features a wide range of traditional dishes that are bursting with flavor. I highly recommend trying the ceviche, which is made with the freshest seafood and has a tangy and refreshing flavor that is perfect for a hot summer day. The grilled octopus is also a standout dish, with tender and smoky pieces of octopus served alongside a zesty salsa.

The ambiance at La Picanteria is cozy and inviting, with colorful decor and a lively atmosphere. It's the perfect place to go with friends and family to enjoy a leisurely meal and catch up on life.

Overall, I would highly recommend La Picanteria to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Peruvian dining experience. The food is top-notch, the service is excellent, and the ambiance is perfect for a fun and memorable...

Can you give a restaurant 6 stars? I think this one deserves it. The price is high for Peru but totally worth it if you can spend it. It's a great place to bring tourists. We ordered a fish of 1.3kg and prepared it 3 ways: Tallarín Saltado (8/10), Jalea Chiclayana (10/10), and Chilcano (10/10). We also ordered Lengua (10/10). The Tallarín was very good and you sort of need to order something with rice or noodles to fill up because otherwise it's just the fish itself. The Jalea came with the fish's head which my mom loved and took home. The Chilcano was just the broth made out of the fish bones. Finally, the Lengua (tongue) was so soft and the stew of the dish was just the best stew I've ever had in my life. Something to note is that the dishes (even the canchita) come with a bit of spiciness (very mild to mild).

La Picantería is a gem in Lima. The vibe is super relaxed, with bright-colored walls, rustic decor, and a really authentic, welcoming atmosphere. Perfect for going with friends or for a more chill lunch. The food was amazing: we had a super fresh salad with avocado, tomato, and lettuce, and a fish dish with golden potatoes in an incredible sauce full of crispy garlic and chili. Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavor. They also have a great little bar area with a nice wine selection and cocktails — it adds a cool, lively touch to the experience without being overwhelming. The glass of white wine we had was the perfect match for the food. Definitely a place I’ll come back to and keep exploring. Highly recommend!
