We stopped in here, looking for a new spot to try dinner. They made a big deal about the fact we didn’t have his reservation, even though all of the tables were open except for two. Somehow they were able to find us a table. The Decor is a little bit on the nose, but, low lighting was nice. They definitely have the French attitude down lol. There is clearly a wide selection of wines and the cocktail list was interesting and varied. We ordered lemonades the bread service (which does have a fee by the way) mushroom ravioli, and the the chicken special which came with mashed potatoes, veggies, and gravy. For dessert, we ordered mil foglie Napoleon. The baguette bread service was nicely toasted in the oven but is not truly French baguette so don’t get your hopes up. The butter was excellent though - high-quality sweet cream butter probably from France (I couldn’t tell since they removed the label too quickly) and it would have been nice to have a bit more butter (only one pat to share for two rolls). We really liked both of our main dishes. The mushroom ravioli was clearly made in house with a wonderful sauce and honestly, this is the best chicken I’ve had in Lima. It was perfectly juicy and succulent and crispy outside and the gravy was expertly prepared and a perfect compliment to the mashed potatoes and fresh veggies. I honestly would go back here just for this special so I hope they have it on their menu frequently. The dessert was just OK, they are heavy on the liquor in the dessert which I’m not a huge fan of. The lemonades were tasty and not too sweet. Overall, we definitely loved the food, the service was a bit lacking, our server had many tables to attend to, and we found ourselves at several times throughout the meal, trying to get his attention. Overall I recommend- and maybe get a...
Read moreI wanted to share some feedback regarding a recent dining experience.I ordered the Pissaladière, which, as you may know, is a traditional dish from the South of France—where my husband is from. The classic preparation features a topping of caramelized onions, anchovies, and olives, without any tomato sauce. We were quite surprised when the version we received was topped with tomatoes and only a minimal amount of onions—barely two, in fact. When I brought this to the attention of the waiter, I was simply told, "the onions are there." If the restaurant is aiming to present itself as authentically French, I believe it’s important that such regional dishes be prepared in a way that honors their origins. The Pissaladière is a beloved specialty, and serving it correctly would truly reflect the culinary heritage it represents.
