Rue — Restaurant in Lima Metropolitan Area

We went here for dinner and had quiet an eventful evening. The table we were seated had some plant around it which was making me itchy, they were kind enough to move us to a table of 4. After a while we mentioned that someone was smoking on the patio and the smoke was coming to our table - they politely asked the customer to stop and it was taken care of. The chicken that was ordered has a garnish of some kind of seeds, which was not mentioned in the menu. My partner cannot eat seeds and they not only replaced the whole dish but also gave us a complimentary drink to make up for the inconvenience. We were extremely satisfied with the service, the staff is simply great. The food is nice too and it is a more affordable option amongst the super experienced restaurants around. La 1era vez que fuimos nos encantó. Todo nos tocó rico, el servicio estuvo adecuado por eso decidimos regresar con unos amigos y les dijimos lo bueno del restaurante. Pero tuvimos una pésima atención. Llegamos tipo 12.30pm por lo cual no había casi gente en el restaurante Nos tomó el pedido un chico y cuando una señorita nos trae trae los platos faltaban dos. Al decirle a la señorita nos miró con cara de sorprendida. Resulta que se habían olvidado de hacerlos. Se fue a averiguar y al rato regreso a decirnos que ya los iban a hacer. Allí le dijimos que al menos vayan trayendo las bebidas que aún no las habían traído y nos pregunta que habíamos pedido. Le digo dos limonadas con hierbabuena, su respuesta fue ahh no puede ser pq no tenemos hierbabuena..plop. Nos pregunta que otra cosa queríamos y le digo inca kola. Le preguntamos por el chico que nos había atendido y nos dijo que se había ido a comprar hierbabuena. Pensé al menos están haciendo su esfuerzo. Paso un rato y nada de las bebidas. Mi esposo le pregunta por estas y ella le dice un ratito. La veo venir con la inca kola y le pregunto y la limonada con hierbabuena y ella me responde que como yo le había cambiado el pedido. Yo lo tuve que cambiar pq me dijo que no había pero si ya habían comprado era lógico que me la traigan. En resumen. La Coca cola de mi esposo le llegó casi cuando estaba terminando su sandwich a pesar de que la pidió varias veces. Cuando ya estábamos por irnos escuchamos que unas personas que habían llegado después de nosotros también se quejaban por las bebidas. Hoy quisimos darle otra oportunidad. Entré y fui a buscar al encargado y hablé con una señorita. Le dije que veníamos a celebrar un cumpleaños y que queríamos tener una buena experiencia pq la última vez había tenido mala suerte. Nos dijo que no nos preocuparabamos. La señorita que atendió hoy ya de inicio equivocada con el pedido. Anoto solo 4 platos y éramos 5 y todos pedimos un plato. Igual equivocada con las bebidas. La comida estába rica pero mi sándwich que ya lo había comido antes vino con la mitad del relleno. Me di cuenta pq si un mordisco y ya no sentí el langostino que viene picadito. Se me ocurrió abrirlo y me di cuenta que viene medio vacío. Le dije a la señorita y me dijo que así lo sirven. La solución que le dio el administrador fue que me diera un poquito de palta chancada y la salsa rosada. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Ningún detalle por el cumpleaños. Que pena que un restaurante en un lugar bonito , en una linda casona y la comida es buena tenga tan mal servicio. Fue la última vez...

For the past 6 weeks I’ve been travelling Peru and Lima was my first stop. Lima has so many amazing spots - but this one was my favourite. I just returned to Lima for a couple days at the end of my trip- and out of all the restaurants I’ve been to- the food here was my favourite. Anytime someone on their trip has told me they are going to Lima I’ve begged them to go here and try the salmon wrap. Coming to get it again for the 4th time it’s confirmed. Fav dish.

I also need to mention 6 weeks ago I had the sweetest server- I don’t speak any Spanish and she was soooo attentive in translating for me. Tonight I saw her again and had the pleasure of having her as my server. Dorelia - I owe you - 6 weeks ago you recommended this to me. I’ve had other apps and they were all exceptional....
