If you happen to find yourself in San Isidro, Peru, definitely make your way to this really cool tiki bar done Peruvian style! The people are very welcoming, accommodating and just amazing! The drink menu has classic tiki cocktails, as well as some original blends. A mixology approach is used to prepare the cocktails, and you can definitely tell, as the drinks are on point! The syrups and juices are prepared in house, which adds to the delicious flavor of these well balanced cocktails! There are delicious food offerings, which pair well with the cocktails! My husband and I visited this bar before having dinner at Astrid y Gaston nearby. These were some of the best cocktails we had in Peru. Many of the cocktails we had in Peru either were too sweet or were more like juice. The drinks at the Parrot's Shadow were unique and delicious. Their extensive menu also has a great breakdown of the flavors in each drink from sweet to fruity to strong to help you navigate. I have traveled to most all of the Caribbean Islands and had my fill of rum bars, beach bars, and the like but I have to admit these guys did a great job at hunting down some of the best rums from the Caribbean and Central America. They probably have one of the best collections in Peru if not in all of South America.
