Disappointing experience – not recommended despite the view
We chose Inka’s Tower Restaurant in Ollantaytambo because of its beautiful location—right in front of the Ollantaytambo ruins. The view is definitely lovely, but unfortunately, the food and service did not match the setting.
My husband ordered the quinoa chaufa with alpaca, which was okay. I ordered trout, but it was not fresh at all. The salad served with it was even worse. The first plate had avocado that was completely black, so I asked for a replacement. They brought a new dish, but the avocado was still bad, the cucumber had dark spots, the lettuce was wilted, and the tomato tasted so rotten I had to spit it out.
Service also fell short. The waitress seemed disinterested and not at all welcoming—you could tell she didn’t enjoy her job, which sadly reflected in the overall experience.
We recommend skipping the food here altogether. If you want to enjoy the view of the ruins, maybe just stop for a soda—but for your stomach’s sake, eat...
Read moreI’m not usually one to trust reviews on Google because I know how shitty people can be but they were actually right. We waited 20-30 minutes before deciding we would leave because despite it being mostly empty (2 other people there) we weren’t able to order. My boyfriend had to go downstairs (for drinks and questions) before we gave up on getting our food order taken — she said she would be right back but after dropping off our drinks she quickly walked off to serve some the 2 others having drinks. Mind you, the drinks are awful. We aren’t big drinkers but thought we would get something with our meal so ordered mojitos because how hard can those be to mess up? I had to crush my boyfriend’s mint so it would slightly resemble a mojito. Disappointing. When we went downstairs to pay because we were starving and not in the mood to wait any longer, she was sat behind the till on...
Read moreThe restaurant store front is a bit hidden. However, you are rewarded with an unparallel 360 view of Ollantaytambo (if you can score a seat on thand a front row seat to the ruins. The food is surprisingly cheaper than the other restaurants in the area. My trout cerviche was only s. 25 vs the s. 35-40 other restaurant charged. Although the price is super reasonable, the food is one of the best we've had. We loved our creole soup, cerviche, and sauteed chicken. Each bite is flavor packed. This is an essential experience for...
