Staying at Hotel Las Orquídeas Inn in the beautiful town of Ollantaytambo felt like being embraced by both nature and family. This family-owned gem offers not just comfort, but genuine care and hospitality. We were warmly welcomed by Jhon, and had the pleasure of meeting his son Nico and Jhon’s kind parents—each adding to the charm of our stay.
The inn is set amidst lush, flower-filled gardens where curious kittens roam freely, adding a touch of magic to the peaceful atmosphere. The room we selected was spacious and cozy, complete with comfortable beds, a heater, and a cozy bathroom with hot water—ideal for cool Andean evenings. Each morning began with a generous breakfast, with Jhon himself preparing our eggs to order with a smile.
What truly sets this place apart is the heartfelt care we received. When my mother fell ill with a digestive issue, Jhon went above and beyond, helping us connect with a local doctor who visited the inn—a gesture we are deeply grateful for.
The location is perfect—just a short walk to both the train station and the town center, yet tucked away enough to feel serene and connected with nature. It’s the kind of place where you feel at home, at peace, and completely looked after.

Read moreI had an amazing 3 night stay at Las Orquideas and I can only recomend it to everyone. The courtyard is lovely, the room was very spacious and so was the bathroom. There was always hot water when I needed. The location is the best to reach the ruins and also just a short walk to the main square or the train station. What makes the whole difference is the owner John who helped me to organize tours and daytrips with really knowledgeable guides. He himself knows a lot about the History and Architecture of the city so I learned a lot by chatting with him. He knows all the hidden gems of the region. It is a History lesson staying here, I recommend...
Read moreA cosy hotel, around a verdant courtyard, with extremely friendly staff. Rooms were large, beds were comfortable, and there was a good supply of hot water for the showers. Breakfast was decent, including scrambled eggs and delicious tomato and basil. Above all, the manager, Jhon, went above and beyond in helping us out, both allowing us to come in late (and then leave luggage with him) and then guiding us to see some of the nearby ruins. Location is also good: not far from the center of town, but on the way to the station, which is an easy ten-minute walk downhill. A great experience,...
