This is found off one of the old original Inca Streets, Calle Imasumac. The hike is not long, however if you are not experienced or are a little scared of heights you may find the trail a little difficult in places, especially on the descent. When you get close to the end of the trail (the third set of ruins) the path becomes very patchy and difficult to follow. On our descent we made a couple of mistakes choosing paths which disappeared or became to dangerous and we had to make a retreat and choose the correct route ( this was only a problem near the top of our hike and is not a problem at the lower half where most people go to). Read moreFree, short hike to the pinkuylluna ruins, which is easily accessed from the town, you’ll see the entrance near the ceramic shop. The Google maps location is a bit off, so do face the ruins from the town and go left if you can’t find the entrance. It’s right opposite Kamma Guest House. Beautiful views well worth the hike! You can explore the ruins on your own without a guide.
Practical info: Visiting hours are from 7:30am - 4:30pm. The hike is more rugged and steep than the Ollantaytambo ruins that you have to pay for, so bring good hiking shoes! (No need for sticks. It’s not very crowded at all as day trippers on guided tours hardly...
