Food was generally quite mediocre. Went here after seeing some good reviews but was disappointed. Had the set menu, which didn't have pizza like advertised (waitress did not tell us this beforehand).
The chicken soup was fairly bland relaying on an abundant amount of cilantro for flavor. The bistec and boiled potatoes was pretty terrible and looked like some hamburger meat squished into the form of a steak. The potatoes were under done by at least 5 minutes and for some strange reason topped with a dollop of cheese.
The two things that I actually liked were the lemon pie, which while somewhat dry was still tasty and the pineapple juice. I would NOT recommend for Lunch, perhaps it's better other times of the day, but it was not at all busy when we were there. Walked out with a bill of nearly 60 soles for a pretty mediocre meal.
Note: for 8 soles in the past I've had pretty great meals, this review is based on what I know to...
Read moreWOW! Absolutely the best Lomo Saltado, I've ever had... one of the best meals, I've ever had. Everything was cooked perfectly, the meat was so tender. My friend had the Pesto pasta, and said he hasn't had better as well. The best part, by far, was the owner. She recommended our meals, like she could tell what we were going to like. Awesome hot sauce with my Lomo, and warm, fresh bread, with the Pesto. She could see my friend eyeing the deserts, and when he said "no thank you to postre", she knowingly smirked and just stood there, waiting... he laughed and ordered the orange cake with ice cream, which he said was also delicious. The Blues (my favouite) was playing the entire time. If it wasn't almost closing time, we might have hung around, till our appetites returned, for a second helping. We'll...
Read moreThis place can't be described without mentioning the owner. She arrived immediately to get our order. She made the effort to understand our broken Spanish and helped me get salad instead of rice. She was super friendly and helpful. Besides, the food was great. I ordered beef in pepper sauce. The meat was soft, and the sauce was delicious. A friend got ceviche (it was a big portion) and confirmed that it was one of the best she had ever eaten in her life. We drank huajsapata (hot wine with pisco and fruit essence), which is wholeheartedly recommended. Don't miss this place if you are...
