Tres Keros — Restaurant in Urubamba

This is probably the most upscale restaurant you’ll find in the area, perfect for a special occasion. The prices are so much higher than other restaurants, even the more upscale ones, but the food quality is truly fantastic.

We had been staying just outside of Urubamba for about a month and mostly eating at really small local places or cooking our own food, but my husband and I decided to have a few nice meals out before leaving Peru.

When we first walked in and we were greeted in English by the owner, and he immediately assured us that the water and ice and salad could be trusted, I was nervous that it was much too touristy and not a place I’d enjoy. While he did try to make us comfortable and spoke to us in English instead of Spanish, and updated us in some news from United States, he was also just really friendly and wonderful. Yes, the prices were high and the restaurant is definitely catering to tourists, but the avocado and asparagus salad we started with was the best vegetable dish I’ve had in ages, and the lamb shank and trout were just delicious. We also had the pisco sours, which were perfectly made. We learned that the woman doing the cooking had been there for 13 years and is truly phenomenal. She took our orders, did the cooking, and processed our payment .

One of the best meals we had in Urubamba! Don't be fooled by the unpretentious menu, the flavors are amazing and everything is cooked to perfection. I wish we had gone back there a second time instead of wasting a dinner at the super pretentious mediocre food of Hawa. Everything we ordered here was delicious from the chef's salad, chicken curry, and 2 desserts. We could do this whole meal all over again but want to try other things on the menu. Quiet intimate atmosphere, great service and food, come here if you want a delicious meal with fresh quality ingredients. Maybe not the most authentic peruvian but certainly made with local products. Good made food and glad they are open again after lockdown. Love the menu options. And nice service. Would top recommend them even if we are kind of competitors. Well 25 min apart, and i just gotta give them 5. Well made it surely was and higher i have to value it than the average top in area. Had cordero, great and a sauce gravy which reminds me of my homeland when they do it best. Been there before lockdown and was also allways good. Have to try new curry dish option next time.
