We had our orders placed at 11.35am. The free soup and the drinks we ordered were served at 11.40am. That was when the service stopped.
We arrived there at 11.30am and there were only 4 or 5 tables with customers at that time. Only one table had more than 5 customers and the rest only had 2 to 4. There were just the 2 of us and we ordered sizzling sisig with rice and their daing na bangus breakfast.
A good 15mins after we ordered, the table behind us were then occupied by a family of 5, 4 adults and 1 baby. I also started noticing a few more tables filling up. Another 10mins passed and the family's table already had at least one viand, a couple cups of rice and the free soup while our table had only the soup and the drinks.
I went to one of the waiters and asked him to follow up on our order. The manager then dropped by on the family beside us and I grabbed his attention. I asked how long is our food still going to take, he said it's cooked on the order received. I asked him to give me a timeframe, he said he will check then left. When he got back, he said our food is already being cooked. I said it's still being cooked? He said yes then left.
I called him again and I asked him how much the iced tea is cause i remember my bf's 8oz coke is 20php. I told him we've been waiting for so long already and the table beside us already had food. He answered that the iced tea is part of the daing na bangus breakfast i ordered but ala cart it's 25php and he even had the guts to tell me that the family's table only had the free soup on their table like everyone else. I started counting bills then places 60php on the table while thinking that he had guts to think I was stupid. I said I'll pay for the drinks but I can't wait for the food. We were already waiting a good 30mins or more then. We were tired and hungry and already pissed. I didn't want to make a scene so we opted to leave.
So in short, the ambiance is ok, the place is not so much. The soup bowl I had was dirty so i had to eat off the actual serving soup bowl and the plate looked like it was gotten from a garbage dump. The service is horrible and the food is not even exceptional or different. NOT WORTH THE...
Read moreOverall: Dining in “Kubong Sawali” was great. When you first walk in it feels like a local restaurant where you sit wherever you want. Once you are ready to order, theres a small switch button where you will need to flip it 2x for service. Then a waiter/waitress will take your order🙂 Its a great place to relax and eat some local cuisine! Also note they only accept “cash” no other payment method as stated by the restaurant. We will be back again🙂

Read moreThis is a good place for groups. I wasn't able to take a picture of what we have feasted on, but I can remember, we had kare-kare. So I really am not a fan of kare-kare, and I only ate it when my mother-in-law cooked, not to compare, but her kare-kare, became my standard, so I just had to compare, the 'Kubong Sawali Kare-Kare' is a bland. But the place is good, the comfort rooms are clean, they have lots of seats and tables that's why I think it's...
