We decided to give this restaurant a try for dinner, but unfortunately, it wasn’t a good experience for us. My husband ended up with severe diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach issues that started in the early morning and lasted until the afternoon. I only had a small bowl of tom yum goong and didn’t eat much, but still felt a bit unwell the next morning. My husband had a meat dish, papaya salad, and shrimp cake.
The food might be fine for others, but it clearly didn’t agree with us. It was our first time dining there, and it will also be our last.
The overall experience was also inconvenient. The restaurant had very poor phone signal and no available Wi-Fi, which made it difficult to process GCash payment. They don’t accept credit cards either, and instead of a printed QR code, they simply provide a mobile number for GCash. I had to step outside just to get enough signal to complete the payment.
Not a place we’d recommend based on...
Read moreWe came on a rainy Wednesday dinner, party of 4, only one table was occupied. The Tom Yum Talay hits the right spot- delicately spicy, herby and warming on that cold evening (I only wished they removed the ton of sliced galangal and woody stems of lemongrass competing with the seafood upon ladling into the bowls). The crispy catfish and green mango salad (yum pla duk foo) had just the right amount of piquancy. The shrimp cake, bagoong rice, pad thai, and fried spring rolls were just okay. The Pad Prik Khing Moo Krob was unctuous and delicious. We decimated our orders. Bill came to about 2300, with 1 extra plain rice, 2 thai milk teas, 1 bottled water and 1 can coke zero, really reasonable. Service was prompt. I was hoping for the northern Thai sausage, but it was not available. We'll...
Read moreA thai resto out of the busy town area, yet just 5 minutes away by car! A quiet area, where one can converse while having our meal with my daughter. My daughter and I were attended to right away by the courteous waitress. It seemed she was alone at the time. Food was served in sequence, which was surprising for a crowded resto with very few staff. She even came by every now and then to check on us We enjoyed the tom yum. The sour, spiciness and umami of the lemongrass was perfect. The fresh spring roll was soo good, which we had to take some home. The serving was too much for two. The pad thai was unexpectedly tasteful . A must try is also their pomelo salad.😋 Som tum is very recommendable. Their prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be a regular customer....
