Ling Nam Baguio Cedar Peak — Restaurant in Baguio

Food: AWESOME! We ordered Beef Hofan Noodles, Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet Rice meal, Pork Chop Rice meal, and buchi. It's rare for a restaurant at this pricepoint to deliver perfectly on all orders! Food is not too salty; the fish, beef, and pork were soft and not stringy (which happens to pork sometimes) or tough like leather (which is sometimes the case with beef). The cucumber lemonade was not diluted with too much ice. The buchi was not too sweet (unlike Chow King's) but suffers from oil that's overpowering (must be sunflower oil or canola). Not bad though; I still prefer it over CK's. They serve free soup and hot unsweetened tea too. Try their Beef Hofan Noodles!

Service Time: GREAT! The tea and soup were served within 3 minutes of us putting in our order. The Beef Hofan arrived in 10 minutes, and after we've had a sampling, the other rice meals were served not 5 minutes later. That's quick service! The meals were served fresh and hot.

Waitstaff: GREAT! The staff were very attentive and seem to be happy to work there. They don't stand around chatting or being loud (some places have waitstaff that are louder than the patrons... coughHap-Chan!cough). With the quick service time from their kitchen, you don't have to track down a service staff to follow-up on your order.

Other notable stuff: Ling Nam has a "no straw" policy which is commendable. It's easy to cooperate with them on this because they don't put giant blocks of ice in their beverages. I'm not 100% sure but I think they don't serve softdrinks/soda. For me, that's a positive thing. Their menu has a healthy variety to it so it'll take time before you get tired of their menu (but with the quality of their food, you wouldn't get tired of Ling Nam that easily!). Price is comparable to Hap-Chan and Solibao.

Final Verdict: Definitely...

I had a very disappointing experience at Ling Nam Restaurant. The food was bland and not worth the price. To make things worse, the cashier had an angry expression and didn’t even smile, which already felt unwelcoming. The worst part was when I stood up to pay my bill—while I was walking to the counter, they loudly called me out as if I was about to run away without paying. The whole restaurant, including other customers, heard it, and it was extremely humiliating. I was just on my way to settle my bill, but they treated me like a thief. Definitely not coming back after...

If only I can give this 0 star. Foods were mediocre. For a simple order, they forgot one of the items. When we asked for this, it took almost 10 minutes for it to show up. While eating, felt something on my head. Brushing it off, a cockroach fell to the floor. As if this is not bad enough, when we asked for the check, we waited almost half an hour. They finally admitted that their computer is not working and they were unable to fix this. We reminded them that they can do the math by hand. This was the only way we were able to get our bill.
