In all the years that me and my family have been going to Baguio, we have been frequent guests at the original Hotel Veniz in Burnham/Abanao. So when I decided to travel alone, I tried this new branch of Veniz in Session Road, which is relatively new.||||BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE:||I don't know if it was just me, or if this branch DOESN'T ANSWER their phones or e-mails. ||A month before my stay, me and my family members also visited Baguio but we stayed at another hotel, which was located in Leonard Wood Road. So I decided to drop by the new Hotel Veniz Session to reserve for my travel/stay the month after. I gave my stay dates, then paid upfront.||||Now, a few weeks before my trip, I decided to create an account in Visita Baguio to schedule my travel, since it is a requirement for people going to Baguio, as part of pandemic measures. So after creating an account and scheduling your travel dates, you will need to inform your hotel/accommodation place of your travel so that they will coordinate with the City Government and have your travel application approved and you will then be issued a QR Coded Tourist Pass.||||As my departure date was nearing, I decided to contact Veniz Session's customer service to have my Travel Application in Visita Baguio approved because the website said "Pending". But lo and behold: all the landline and mobile numbers in their calling card WERE NOT WORKING and WEREN'T BEING ANSWERED. I tried the next day and the day after next, but nada. I even tried emailing them to explain the situation and ask for help but NO REPLY EITHER. ||||I even tried calling them on the day of my departure to Baguio. WALA PA RING SUMASAGOT SA PHONE NILA. Good thing the bus company helped me with my little problem and I was able to get my QR Coded Pass, then travel and enter the city smoothly.||||Check-in: 2:00 pm. But you can always leave your stuff in the front desk if you arrive earlier.||Check out: 12 noon.||Note: There is a P500 deposit, which they will return once you check out.||||Location: Right smack in the middle of Session Road, so it's close to all shops, eating places, etc.||||Room: Look and feels new, since it's a new hotel. But just like the others say, if you're feeling claustrophobic, you might wanna reconsider. There are no windows. So if you wanna breathe or see the outside world, you need to step out of your room. I obviously booked only for myself, so the room that I was given, was really a room, na pang-isahan lang talaga. Pang tulugan lang talaga/||||Addendum: During my stay, I was surprised to find they didn't provide newspapers, or the Nescafe sticks with the cookies like they do in Burnham.||||Wi-fi is very fast though. There's hot and cold shower, hair dryer, cable TV, and a lot of storage for your things, and also a reasonable amount of power outlets.||||Breakfast: Complimentary breakfast at the McDonalds on the ground floor. You need to ask the front desk to issue you a new stub, depending on your length of stay. If that isn't your thing though, you can always grab a bite at the nearby restaurants in Session. Hopefully they would also have complimentary non fastfood breakfast and have a Veniz Grill or Cafe Veniz in that branch too.||||Other notes: Aside from the McDonalds and French Line Bakeshop at the Ground Floor, the building has a resto on the second floor named Wingyard.||||Reception/Staff: Very helpful. Read moreOur experience in this place is quite so-so; we stayed here for 2 nights and booked a Superior Family room for 3A and 2C. The room was okay, dated, and the appliances were not in quite good condition—not very bang for the buck. It was clean, but some room amenities were missing, and we had to call and wait just for it to be delivered. The food is good though; there is limited choice, but for its price, sulit na. Some of the staff, on the other hand, are quite horrible; this experience almost tainted our first Baguio experience. It all started during pre-reg. We arrived in Baguio around noon and were hoping we could check in early or at least pre-register. When we got to the property, I was assisted by FO agent Dehlia. The agent, I guess, was in a bad mood and didn't want to do any more work. I asked if we could do ECI. I wasn't pushy, as I do understand it's too early. Delhia maintained a stoned face and, in the most snobby tone, told us to come back at 2 p.m. I obliged, of course, and instead did some bag storage. After paying for the security deposit, there was no other information given to me. I moved away from the desk as there were already a number of people coming in. Before we left for lunch, I thought of asking about the breakfast situation as we were staying with kids. At that time, she was doing paperwork for a guest, and I guess my asking irritated her; however, if she was not willing to or ready to answer, she could've told me to wait instead of responding in a very condescending manner and giving me the wrong information. I was told that I had to pay for the breakfast of my 5 y.o and 1 y.o., and only adults can eat for free, even if we didn't exceed the room occupancy. I work in the hospitality industry, and hearing this kind of policy sounded so wrong to me. I knew immediately that she probably made a mistake and gave her a moment to correct herself, but the girl was too cocky to admit it. Coming from a 5-hour trip, I almost lost my temper, but I maintained my composure and left instead of arguing with someone who clearly hates her job. I then tried to check their website but did not find any information. Fortunately, when we came back for check-in, we had a better FO agent who gave us correct information and was kind enough to accommodate questions. Other than the rude front office agent, we did not encounter any other nasty staff; however, her actions did leave a negative impression on the place. Overall, staying here is okay, especially if you are particular about the location, but if you have time, there are better accommodations around that you can...
