Hands down the best bar in Baguio. Low-pressure, low-key, low-light, low-ceiling place for a bite to eat and a drink with friends. Beer & a full cocktail menu. Cash only. Four stars because it's an authentic bar with some personality, not because it's fancy! Prices are very reasonable. They offer a full-range of cocktails. Staff is friendly without being bothersome.
I don't know if this location has been a bar forever or whether they just have a very gifted interior designer. Either way you feel like you stand in a long line of patrons that have bellied up to the bar for camaraderie and cocktails. I asked my server what he suggested for dinner and he immediately pointed out the Beef Tapa plate with egg. Not the most expensive item on the menu by far. I appreciate that sort of honest opinion.
The Beef Tapa plate with egg indeed was delicious. A mound of steamed white rice accompanied with thinly-sliced beef sauteed with fresh onions. The beef was tender and the onions were not cooked into a soggy mess. Delicious. A small bowl of white vinegar was also on the plate and it brightened up both the rice and the beef. Additionally I was provided with a bottle of chili oil as well as with a bottle of hot sauce. I wish I'd tried them both with the meal because they tasted good on their own!
Bacon cheeseburger is small but still tasty. Served with thin (almost shoestring) french fries. Their pansit is a large portion of stir fried noodles, cabbage, meat, and veggies.
Tragically they were out of onion rings, but the Long Island Iced Tea I ordered was both well-balanced and enormous. Bar has a good selection of both local liquors and Western brand names (Jameson's, Bacardi, Jack Daniels, etc.). If they don't know what you want they're happy to try and make it with some guidance.
This is a great little place to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown Baguio and enjoy a bite to eat...
Read moreWorst service ever. Just came from the hospital with my wife and baby girl and my wife had already ordered one of the shawarma and I decided I'd rather sit and order off of their menu. While we're deciding what else to get, my daughter asks for a drink and we give her some Sprite from our bag. Immediately a waiter comes over and tells us that no outside drinks are allowed. Of course, I'm instantly upset because this is one of those idiotic rules that bad managers and/or owners still believe will force customers to buy more. It is a stupid rule that just disrespects your customers and makes them feel like all you care about is their money. So, I asked for the manager. Sorry, there isn't a manager available. So, I ask for an assistant manager. Sorry, no assistant manager available. REALLY? no surprise there, I must admit. Absentee owners and absentee management. Then I'm told their isn't even a shift supervisor. NOBODY IS IN CHARGE...!!! So, we informed them that we would not only be buying the rest of our dinner elsewhere, but we would NEVER come back to this establishment. To which the waiter or bartender or whatever he was indicated that he could care less. No surprise there either. It isn't...
Read moreI unconsciously grew up in this place. I was 14 years old when one of my friends brought me here. We drank coffee and ate a sandwich, at that time I had no idea it will become one of my favorite places. I can come here alone or with a company and still feel comfortable and fulfilled. Everyone whom I have been closest to since then has came in here with me making memories and laughter.2 of those has died already and my favorite memories with them is us dining/drinking in here. When I was a student, I would also go here for the wifi connection and stay for about 2 hours studying and searching on my phone. I have also met a lot of genuinely good people here from different places and I treasured those moments. I am now 27 years old and still go here for a quick catch up with friends and I never get tired of their food. This bar holds a special place...
