GRAN' ITALIA — Restaurant in Coron

Very busy on the evening we visited. We waited around 45 minutes for a table.

Spaghetti pomodoro was excellent. Sauce was full of delicious tomatoes, nicely seasoned.

The mixed salad was pleasant (we were so desperate to eat fresh raw veggies after spending a month in Philippines eating mostly local cuisine)

The tagliere vegetariano was OK, not spectacular. It was mostly bread, very limited grilled vegetables. The focaccia listed on the item was anything but. It looked and tasted like shop bought bread. The other bread provided for the bruschetta was slightly better, but still not brilliant. Perhaps they should try and use their pizza dough for the bread instead on this dish? Merely a suggestion.....

Service was friendly and efficient. No dessert menus offered, and the chap who took our payment continually coughed and spluttered everywhere when I was paying. Put your hand to your mouth dude!

Can pay by card, which is a bonus. The price point is pretty steep though.

£27 for side salad, side portion of pasta, vegetable antipasto to share, carafe of wine. Not far off UK prices, and more expensive than what that would cost in mainland Europe! I appreciate the wine is obviously imported, but still....

What an amazingly delightful Italian restaurant. I heard about this restaurant before coming to Coron and wanted to try it...I was not disappointed!

A beautifully designed restaurant reminiscent of a quaint street cafe in old Italia with murals and paintings and architectural elements that make you feel like you are dining in Italy. And, there is a magnificent old style pizza oven in the outdoor dining space, complete with old world iron gates. If the out side temperatures don't suite you, step inside the indoor, air conditioned dining room, complete with it's own Italian charm.

The staff was absolutely the BEST! Friendly, courteous, polite, professional and attentive. All this perfection culminates with the most exquisite Italian cuisine imaginable!

The pork medallions in mushroom sauce was awesome, as was the Salmon with potatoe puree. Every course of this meal capped off a very unique week in Coron...from the appetizer and drinks, to the main course and dessert! Everything was simply marvelous!!!

Too crowded inside and less space to move around and enjoy your food. We had to share a table good for 4 with another couple. When my husband and I came, we were told that they are full and have to wait 30 minutes, but we just saw another couple who just came in and got seated before us. There was no "reserved" sign on that same table so we didn't understand why they got seated first. They had to ask that same couple if they can share the table with me and my husband. Good thing they are okay with it. Food was good. Surprisingly it was served to us very fast. We asked for the bill but it took a long time for them to give it. They charge an additional fee for service on top of that pricey food list. All in all the food was good, too crowded inside and it gets noisy, some food were not available, restroom is near where you're dining so it is smelly sometimes, and less space to...
