Coron might be known for its pristine beaches and stunning underwater world, but for a night off from seafood, I ventured into the world of Korean BBQ at Miso. Nestled in Poblacion Barangay 3, this hidden gem offers an authentic Korean dining experience that left me wanting more.
With friendly staff greeting us and the rhythmic sizzle of meat on the grill filling the air. The décor was simple yet stylish, with exposed brick walls and wooden tables adorned with traditional Korean side dishes – a visual feast before the main event even arrived.
The star of the show, undoubtedly, was the Korean BBQ. We opted for the bulgogi meal, which offered a generous variety of cuts, all beautifully marbled and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The accompanying banchan (side dishes) were a revelation – kimchi with just the right amount of spice and refreshing pickled vegetables. Each bite was an explosion of flavor and texture, perfectly complementing the meal.
What truly elevated the experience at Miso was the attentiveness of the staff. They patiently explained the menu ensuring a perfectly Korean dining experience. The complimentary plum juice and slices of watermelon were perfect to finish the feast.
Miso is a must-visit for any Korean food lover, or anyone seeking a delicious and vibrant dining experience in Coron. The high-quality ingredients, attentive service, and authentic atmosphere make it a true gem. Whether you're craving sizzling BBQ or a taste of Korean street food, Miso has something to satisfy...
Read moreThe food was decent, and the portion size is large. However, be careful of the cashier lady. we asked if they take credit card after showing her that we have cash. She said yes, and we asked if we can pay with credit card instead of cash since they do charge a 10% service fee. She hesitated and said “the credit card machine ran out of battery, maybe it will work tomorrow”. So we paid with cash and let it go. Then the servers chased after us because they short charged us for an item. We asked again if we can pay with credit card since we are really running low on cash. She then looked at the other waiters and then told us that the credit card machine is broken. Like I know it is working because of the whole side eying signals and story doesn’t add up.
We paid again with cash and left. It definitely made the restaurant feel less like a professional Korean food business. And we will not be...
Read moreFood poisoning!!! I had the pork hotpot and I think there was something wrong with the meat, I was also given a bottle of beer that was discoloured around the rim. Started to feel ill about 30 minutes after I started eating. 1 hour later and it was coming out of both ends at the speed of light. Repeat this 7-8 more times over the space of the next 36hours which means I’ve now had to miss my flight, buy myself extra nights in a hotel on a island I don’t want to be on anymore and I’m now going to have to buy another flight and pray the stomach problems are gone by then. It’s now 36 hours after I ate at this restaurant and I’m still not comfortable being more than 10m from the bathroom. Thank you for ruining my holiday Miso Korean...
