The Dining Room at the Henry Resort is an amazing restaurant for those looking for somewhere to take visitors to, or if you want to have good food and spice up your lunch or dinner plans.
Parking: Lots of parking inside Henry Resort, or right outside the gate near the sea. The only con is that the parking is shared by the various guests inside, and the ones dining in at the restaurants.
Service: The service is very good. I've eaten here on two separate occassions, one last year and one recently. We recently booked the 2nd floor to ourselves and the servers assigned to us were really attentive the entire time, from serving the meals to getting our orders.
Atmosphere: The Dining Room is pretty cool, with Filipino capiz shells for cabinetry on the second floor. It’s surrounded by glass windows on 3 sides of the restaurant so you can appreciate the resort outside (unless it’s night). Only con is that the stairs leading up to the 2nd floor are not clear and need to be better lit, especially for seniors. Can’t say much about the 1st floor since I haven’t tried that area, but the 2nd floor can accommodate up to about 35-40 people.
Food: The food is good. One of my favorites is the Spicy Tuna (an appetizer) which is raw tuna paired with crispy rice. I also enjoyed the Canneloni. The best sellers here are the Beef Rogan Josh and the Chicken Parmigiana. The salads are also all really good like the Waldorf salad or the Mt Talinis.
Prices: The prices here may seem a bit pricier than the usual Dumaguete scene (also due to its location) but it will depend on the dishes, and those that are expensive are usually for-sharing sized dishes. But you can enjoy a good meal for around ₱400-500,...
Read moreFood: Everything we ordered was goooood. We ordered tom yum goong (so comforting with lots of mushrooms and shrimps), lemon grass skewers(has the smoky taste), baked lemongrass seabass(these fish is so big and its fresh), dumaguete coconut curry (shrimp and crab in a curry sauce-bonus is that everything is himay na), shrimp pomelo salad(refreshing! With lots of shrimps) and butter pecan ice cream(not sweet. So good!). All of that for 3,400 pesos. With the quality and quantity of all the servings. It’s totally worth it. If compared to Manila prices, our order would probably php 6k+.
Service: went there by 11am on a friday. We are the only customers. Felt like we have booked a private fine dining restaurant. Service is top-notch. Food was served not too long. Very attentive and warm staff.
Atmosphere: Feels like going back to ancient times. Like the ones in Noli me Tangere era. Classy and elegant Filipino style. Their music is nice too. Very chill, welcoming and nostalgic.
💯💯💯 will recommend this to anyone...
Read moreManager should be immediately replaced with someone that knows how to run the show. If someone says it is a great restaurant, most likely never been to a great restaurant. Restaurant located in a beautiful place but the service is horrible. No one offered us any water, so we asked for it later but still no one brought any. It was 3 of us, one person received the food relatively quickly then two other orders took almost an hour. No one ever came once asking if we need anything else. Portions are small, fries are full of oil, no salt. So much stuff working here , there was only 2 tables having dinner and stuff can’t keep up. Horrible experience. Spent your money...
