Here is a very honest review from a group of French and Filipino, who came to L’assiete out of curiosity.

Their French/European plates are overpriced and are not very good. The wine was detestable and can only be consumed with ice to make it palatable. Never get the duck confit cause it’s obviously just from the canned Reflets de France, which you can buy for cheap. It also gets served with very buttery veg, so the whole plate feels very greasy after a few bites. The lamb cutlets were so few and so tiny and could barely be considered a full plate for the price. The osso bucco was tough and gummy and was served with basic penne pasta that they couldnt be bothered to mix with the sauce prior to serving.

On the very few pros, the Filipino plates seem good. We ordered Chicken Adobo and it was good. The ice cream they serve is also very delicious. If you’re planning to visit, just come for the gelato and the homemade cones. The server ā€œBobā€ is also very enthusiatic—too chatty, but tries to make every table feel welcome. I guess to make up for the bad quality French food?

Overall, the menu is confused - half ā€œEuropeanā€ and half ā€œFilipino.ā€ Just get the Filipino plates so you don’t get...

Best restaurant we tried in all of the Philippines!!

They have both european and Filipino options, we choose the latter :D. Delicious plates and homemade desserts, with just the right amount of sugar, i can still taste the real strawberry icecream in my mouth!! šŸ˜‹

We stayed 4 nights in El nide and we dined here everyday, as it is our honeymoon, and the quality was too good to risk it in any other place, which is something we never do, since we usually prefer the risk of a mistake rather than repeat at the same place.

You must try the Kare-Kare bagnet (good for 2), the banana sunflower, the pork sisling, and vegetable curry!!

The staff was very friendly, specially the doorman, Bob, if I am not mistaken, he gave us some tips for the following stage of our trip :)

Every other night there is a band playing live music, which we really enjoyed, all the songs played were my favourite...

Summary: Food is overcooked and dry. They probably forgot our order, served only one person at the table, and barely compensated us for making us wait 1h25m for dishes that takes 15 minutes to prepare.

Party of four (4) arrived after a big table put in their order, so we expected to wait a while. However, after about 1h15m with tables coming and going, we were surprised with the delivery of one single dish.

Took them another 10 minutes to cook up our orders after we asked what's going on. Other people came after - and were served before us. Thus, we can only conclude the kitchen managed to forget 3/4 of our order.

They offered us their apologies, 10% discount, and a scoop of ice cream as compensation, which we accepted.

The food was dry and stale, all of it. Tuna, burger, bicol...

We can’t decide if the hospitality or cuisine is better !!! Coming from NYC & LA restaurant industry… we can’t say enough fabulous feedback about L’Assiette… one is obviously the ambiance on the beach … we had our 1st meal here for a yummy fruit smoothie bowl and returned for every meal after that until our departure… we must have tried half the menu with our group of 12…so delicious ! Sizzling plates… the bomb! Big ups to the kitchen crew and owners of this spot ! if you are lucky enough to meet BoB … he is one of the kindest hard working fun servers!!! We love him…Oh and the Gin Basil smash cocktails … we must have ordered at least 30 throughout our trip !!! Seriously , the only thing we did not like is leaving… see you next time BoB!! Your the best ā¤ļøšŸ’›šŸ’š
