I have to echo the previous posterâs sentiments. Different prices for the pastries on different days. I think a more ethical way of doing business is to have the prices posted. In this way the staff cant randomly decide how much the different items will cost.
We came here several times (cuz apparently weâre gluttons for punishment but )mostly cuz it was the closest bakery. Not all, but a couple staff seem uninterested, grumpy and
As for the actual pastries the chocolate croissant sizes are inconsistent and very dry. The regular croissants were fine but nothing spectacular. For the absurdly high prices- comparable and actually higher than prices back home- it was definitely NOT worth it!!!
We asked about the coconut bread at 1:30 and they didnt have any. When we came back at 5 pm, there werent any available either. The staff we asked didnt tell us to come back at 2 ( like the posts we read). Thats shoddy customer service. Do you want to sell more or not really? It seems like not.
Honestly, from all the reviews that I read, i expected this bakery to be amazingly delicious. We were sorely disappointed!!! I would NEVER recommend this...
Read moreFantastic little authentic bakery, selling a wide selection of local and international pastries, cakes and sweat and savoury breads. The local foods are the cheapest with the more international options being a little higher in price, so the prices do vary a bit. However this is totally to be expected as producing a local sweat bread or making a simple ring donut is much cheaper than producing a pain au chocolat for example. Having said that even the higher priced items are still very inexpensive really. It does get a bit chaotic at busy times but this just highlights how popular and how good the bakery is. The staff are super friendly and helpful too and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the different items for sale. This bakery is a great place to grab a breakfast on the go or a sweat treat or snack at any time of day. It's one of the few places in El Nido offering food at local prices and not fleecing tourists like most of the other places in El Nido. I highly recommend this bakery, I went here every day during my...
Read moreIt was a bit busy when I went in the afternoon and I decided to try a couple of pastries. It was disorderly when you get to the front of the line. There are nice signs to tell you what the pastries are and for how much they are sold for.
Itâs everyone fending for themselves, you must get the attention of a worker before someone else pushes past you to get helped first. By the time I got the attention of the worker, she was clearly annoyed when she could tell I was a foreigner and was rushing to get me to order. I quickly pointed to a cookie and she ask âanything elseâ multiple times. I did end up pointing to another pastry and said that was all. It was fairly cheap at 10 pesos for two pastries.
Itâs really hard to make a decision on what to get when you donât know the items and how much they cost. The service wasnât great. The pastries...
