Happiness Hostel — Hotel in El Nido

Best hostel i’ve ever been at!!! The best thing about this place, are without a doubt the people running it! The Happiness Hostel team are a group of incredibly kind, helpful, curious and fun people. They will help you out with anything to make your stay there absolute perfection. Everyday they organize some kind of activity as the hostel, from game night, through movie night to cultural Filipino evenings, so if you’re tired after a day of Island Hopping and don’t feel like going into busy El Nido, spending evenings at the hostel was so much fun. Thank you guys for making my trip so memorable! Then, when it comes to the facilities, the hostel does not leave much more to ask for to be honest. You would think you’re sleeping in a bunk bed, but in reality, thanks to an actual wooden wall serving as your “cover” you feel like you have your own little room with all the privacy you would need. The showers are awesome, with always hot water and very private stalls. Otherwise the hostel is always clean and there are ladies sweeping sand off the floors all day long. I did not try the food or drinks in the restaurant downstairs since it was a bit on the more expensive side, but I only heard great things about out it as well. The location is also just perfect, you’re essentially right by the beach and can have a morning coffee to a stunning view each day. They offer free fresh bread, bananas and coffee every morning, so essentially offering free breakfast.The hostel is literally a few minutes walk from the main restaurant and party El Nido street. The hostel can sign you up for Island Hopping Tours and the prices are about the same as anywhere else you would book, and the company they book you through was really great as well, can not complain. All in all, I can not even come up with any negative sides of this place, I wish I could stay there for a whole month. What an amazing stay at Happiness Hostel! We loved everything about this place ❤️ Firstly the location is perfect, right along the beach and main street with lots of restaurants to choose from. The common area provided a great place to chill both inside on the wicker chairs or bean bags and out on the balcony with the swings (my favourite looking out onto the beach!). Free water and tea/coffee was available all day as well as complimentary rolls and bananas from 7am each morning, which is a lovely touch. The bedrooms are super clean and cosy. The layout of the bunks is the best we've seen during our 5 months travelling SEA as there's lots of storage inside the bunk for your belongings and also under the bed. The sliding doors also provide privacy but because of the way they are built they still allow for ventilation from the AC to keep you cool. The beds were comfortable and surprisingly large for a single bed. The bathrooms were always spotlessly clean. The showers were hot and had a place for you to hang your towel/clothes/toiletries to ensure they did not get wet.

Last but not least, the staff are incredible. They really do make you feel so welcome and at home. We received lots of advice and help from them between retrieving a SIM card that had fallen on the roof, booking tours and printing tickets for the ferry. We especially want to mention Ann, who was a massive help to us and was an absolute superstar! 🌟 She always offered a friendly hello and a chat and remembered small details about each guest which really added to that sense of feeling at home.

We cannot recommend staying in Happiness Hostel enough, it really was a home away from home and we're so sad we could not...

Unique No-Shoes Policy: The hostel has a no-shoes policy that adds to its cozy ambiance. Breathtaking Common Area: The common area offers stunning views of the sea and the ridge. Impeccable Cleanliness: The rooms and beds were impeccably clean and comfortable. Effective Air Conditioning: The air conditioning in the rooms worked exceptionally well. Clean Toilets and Reliable Hot Water: The toilets were consistently clean, and warm water was always available. Spacious Beds with Storage: The beds were roomy, and the storage boxes within them were a convenient touch. Complimentary Breakfast: Guests can enjoy a simple but satisfying breakfast consisting of banana, bread, and jam for free. 24/7 Beverage Options: Coffee, cold drinks, and hot water are available round the clock. WiFi Limitations: Unfortunately, there's no internet access in rooms or common areas, and there's uncertainty about when this issue will be resolved. This might pose an inconvenience to guests who rely on connectivity.

Whatever you want to do here they got the solution, and best rates. So no need to runaround to find best deals, just ask them them and get it done.
