I took my family to this restaurant after reading the excellent reviews online and was disappointed to have a very different experience. Spending a week in El Nido during storms, we've had lots of opportunities to explore for good food.
On arrival most of the restaurant was shut due to lots of rain, but the staff were kind enough to arrange a table for us, well done on that.
We ordered drinks, entrees, and mains. All of our order was placed at the same time. Mains started to arrive before entrees, and components of our dishes were forgotten. Drinks arrived after food, and to order a second round of drinks we had to go to the bar as we couldn't get anyone's attention. My father felt that the bourbon he ordered and paid for was not what he received (reinforced when he ordered the second round from the bar and it was a different taste/colour). We had to request napkins when none were given. The food was lacklustre. Chicken Sisig was drowning in mayonnaise. The Chicken Parmigiana was - interesting, not in a good way.
Overall the location and view of this establishment provide it an opportunity to excel as a truly must visit dining destination in El Nido town. The staff mean well but there is no direction, and training should be lifted to reach the appropriate level, this is managements responsibility. Food needs work, order of service is a basic place to start. A disappointing experience that should have been great. I hope that we were unlucky that night and that others get the meal and service that you expect, for the location and price...
Read moreWow! This place was incredible, for not much more than the restaurants on the main street you can get a gorgeous view of the harbour, impeccable service and live music from a pianist and saxophonist! A roof top dinner for two - highly recommend their cajun tofu tacos, smoothie bowls and the sweet and sour pork! The bar and restaurant can be found on the top floor of the H hotel. They have two menus, one is completely vegan and the other is Chinese cuisine - linked to another restaurant next door (Oceanview Chinese Restaurant). A live pianist who was then accompanied by a saxophonist played beautiful music for the entirety of our meal. Deo, the manager, was on the floor the second night we visited. He was very sweet and chatty, lovely to see him getting involved with the customers. All of the waiters were friendly and provided a great service. We spent £25 on food and drinks which was plenty for two people wanting a special night out. You could easily spend less or more depending on your budget. Our first night we spent £16 on food and drinks. Will definitely be returning when visit...
Read moreWe were a group of 12 and spent almost ₱20,000 (~$400). Sadly, even good food couldn’t make up for the terrible service. HORRIBLE.
We sat down and were ignored — no one took our order until we repeatedly called for attention. Even then, they only took half our table’s orders. Half of us got our food after 45 minutes; others waited even longer. One of us waited two hours for a steak, then had to pack it to go because he was starving and had to leave.
When we raised the issue, the manager just made excuses about being understaffed. We understood at first, but this wasn’t a one-time thing — we had poor service even when there were only four other people dining the day before. Clearly, it’s a management issue.
Their “solution” was a 10% discount — something we were already entitled to as hotel guests. No real apologies, no real care.
In the end, we paid $400 / Php 20,000 for bad service. Management desperately needs to step up: hire more people, train your staff properly, and actually care about your customers.
I’ve never felt compelled to write a complaint about service before...
