Tldr - first time we have to leave a restaurant without eating there
and we’ve been to thousands until now. Fake positive reviews probably as they offer discount. To be avoided!

Detailed experience:

We arrived for lunch and proceeded with the order immediately. Out of the 3 items we ordered, 2 were not available, one being 500 ml bottled still water
we ordered again a new dish (snapper) which was confirmed at the moment of ordering by the waitress. After 2 minutes, she came back and reconfirmed the order.

Context: there were only three other tables occupied in the restaurant, with two having received their meals when we were ordering ours. There were at least 3 waiters and at least 4 people in the kitchen.

Next 30-40 minutes nothing happened, apart from waiters being confused with other people orders/checks. One waiter ran 3 times outside the restaurant to bring different items to the bar/kitchen. After the long wait, another waiter came and asked us if it’s ok to wait for another 15 minutes
we said ok, as we had waited already so long and we also had our 1yo hungry baby with us.

After the said additional 15 minutes, our order came
shrimps instead of the snapper. At that moment, we paid for our drinks and left to another restaurant.

Overwhelmed waiters even in chill periods, no smiles/friendly atmosphere, a lot of items on the menu missing
the only explanation why this restaurant has so high ratings is that they offer 5% discount and a free desert (written on the menu) for a (positive, i...

As a local, I have to say that this is one of the best Modern Classic Filipino restaurant in El Nido.

If you're looking for a place to showcase Filipino food to your friends for the first time in El Nido, this place has the perfect representation of the modern-classic Filipino cuisine. I'd recommend this place to experience Filipino family gathering that revolves around great selection of food.

The menu is fairly priced for its quality and serving portion. Note that El Nido has a lot of expensive restaurants that doesn't really translate to great dining experience. It has a wide selection of the filipino traditionals from your classic filipino gathering dishes to the modern iterations. Definitely go for their Kare-kare, Sweet and Sour Lapu-lapu, and Lechon Kawali. Their Kare-kare is not exactly prepared traditionally, but it'll give most restaurant kare-kare a run for its money!

The location is very accessible. Nanay's El Nido is inside Pops District which has lots of parking space for motorcycles and cars that is absolutely rare in El Nido. Lots of other restaurant and dessert shops within the district. It's also a good sunset spot and has access to the Corong-corong Beach. Though small, the restaurant's theme is Filipino classic resto that's nothing else special to...

Nanay's is hands down the best Filipino restaurant in El Nido. From the warm and friendly atmosphere to the delicious food, this place has it all. The moment you step inside, you are greeted with a smile and a feeling of home.

But let's talk about the food - it is absolutely amazing! One of the standout dishes is the Tapsilog. For those who may not be familiar, Tapsilog is a popular Filipino breakfast dish consisting of thinly sliced beef, garlic fried rice, and a fried egg. Nanay's version of this dish is a true masterpiece. The beef is tender and flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning. The garlic fried rice is perfectly cooked and adds a nice crunch to the dish. And the fried egg on top ties everything together, making for a truly satisfying meal.

But that's not all - Nanay's El Nido has an extensive menu of other Filipino favorites that are sure to please any palate. Whether you're in the mood for adobo, sinigang, or curry, this restaurant has it all. And don't forget to save room for dessert!

Overall, I cannot recommend Nanay's El Nido enough. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. If you're looking for authentic Filipino cuisine in El Nido, look no further...

I really wanted to enjoy here but I was left very annoyed. The place we're nearly empty when we came for brunch. When I asked about the menu the guy had to go to the kitchen EVERYTIME. like does no one try to learn their menu nowadays? Our first order was a combi it was meant to be ham AND bacon served with bread and mixes fruit. They then wanted us to choose whether we want bacon or ham... And here's me thinking it was called a combi for a reason. I ordered a tocilog for myself. When our order arrived, I cannot identify where is tocilog first because the ham came with fried rice when menu said it is served with BREAD!!! And both plate had slices of pineapple and not mixed fruit. Most importantly both meat are just fried. I've eaten tocino for years and I've seen different version. But unless stated, it's usually is made of pork. Typically red in colour but sometimes it has no food color though. It definitely has some sweet and tangy taste to it for sure. I was served with fried chicken fillet. IT WAS NOT TOCINO. I hate arguing about foods so we ate anyway but I was left very disappointed. Having to pay over 1000 pesos for really insulting foods really put a dampen on our El Nido holiday.

Honestly, this was our favorite restaurant when we visited El Nido. The food was beautiful - visually aesthetic and aromatic and the taste was a 10/10. I’m filipino so I know how the Filipino food is supposed to taste and this was spot on. It tasted like a traditional Filipino mom’s cooking if your Filipino mom was a 5 star chef lol and the plating and vibes of the restaurant is very instragramable. The servers were so sweet and full of character that they made our experience that much better and the owner is the sweetest, funniest most hospitable host. We ate when the servers were doing a dance for the guests and the owner joined them. It was the best time, super enjoyable. I highly recommend checking this spot if you’re in the area 100%.
