Came to Bravo for supper with a group of about 20 people. The ambiance and decor was really cool. American chill house music was playing, everyone was smiling and enjoying themselves. The service, food, and drink experience was where they fell short. First thing, they ended up enforcing a 500 PHP per person minimum which was frustrating. 4 of us ordered Pina Coladas but didn't end up getting them until AFTER our dinner arrived and they were watered down and flavorless. We asked for them 3 times before they arrived. They gave us 2 pitchers of water for 15 people which was annoying since we kept emptying them pretty quickly and having to get up and ask for more water. Personally, I ordered a Filipino meatball dish and the meatballs ended up being a bit crusty and dry, but thankfully had plenty of sauce to help with the dryness. When we were ready to leave, our waiter was nowhere to be seen for about 10 minutes and it took another few minutes to get the check. When we sat down, we agreed to split a table of 15 into 2 checks but when he presented the check, it was one large one. Had to ask him again to break it up a second time, which took another few minutes. Just a really poor experience, the look and ambiance was absolutely awesome but the food, drink, and service were just poorly executed. For what it's worth, the service members were clearly doing the best they could and were exceptionally polite and kind. While leaving, I discovered they were manually calculating check totals using pad and paper and calculators instead of using their POS systems. From what I could tell, they had one POS system for about 8 waiters which really caused a bottleneck in service. Clearly, they are trying their very best but need to address some bottlenecks in their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have eaten a lot of shrimps in my day and the gambas in Bravo is by far the best that I have tried in the country. It's fresh and it's perfectly cooked. I tend to do away with gambas in restaurants because it's usually overly frozen and overcooked but I dared to give this a try because the shrimps in Siargao's restaurants seemed to be generally fresh. I must say the seafood landscape in Siargao is very promising. I was very much delighted that this restaurant validated that conjecture. Sure, the taste could be better but with seafood, the main ingredient should be the star. All others must be secondary.
The bread also tasted very fresh as well as the pita bread for our baba ghanoush. Earlier in the afternoon, I had their vegetarian wrap and Esclavida Catalan while lounging by the beach. It was a total experience, for the palate, for the eyes and the mind. The vibe was very alive at night without being too crass. The servers were very courteous and alert. Could easily be the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOrdered chicken curry roll and was given a stone cold curry filled roll. When asked why the chicken roll is cold, answer i got from waiter jacob was "it is supposed to be served cold". Really? U serve a Chicken roll ice cold? More to that jacob admitted it Was straight from refrigerator. When I requested to reheat r atleast microwave he refused to it saying "it will ruin the taste", what???? That was our first meal after we arrived at siargao, worst experience and imagine the disappointment. Ur chef has to be incompetent and lazy to serve days old Chicken curry and lazy enough not to even microwave it before serving. This 1 star is for awesome and friendly waiter and waitress u have there. Will never visit nor...
