This place was a deception. We went there as a group, we ordered lunch a la carte so we had a good overview of the whole menu and it was very inconsistent, some dishes being okay and most being disappointing if not inedible especially "Putras's Ayam" and the "Beef Rendang", soggy, full of oil, mix of bland flavors and powerful ingredients poorly assembled. The dessert was at least original but not exceptional by any means. On another note, the view is okay but the atmosphere doesn't make you feel cozy due to construction surrounding the whole restaurant. The positive points were the nice staff and the coffee, which was and looked quite good. I wished for this place to be one of the hidden gems, but after visiting many, I can confidently say it's not, and it's one of the worst culinary experience of my life. I hope they either develop the coffee side and ditch the cooking or revamp their whole recipes. Without this, this place is one to avoid.

Little Canggu delivers a vibrant taste of Indonesian cuisine with standout dishes like their **Mie Goreng** and **Beef Rendang**, earning it a solid 4-star rating. The Mie Goreng is a flavorful triumph—stir-fried noodles packed with smoky wok hei, tender chicken, fresh veggies, and a hint of sweet-spicy kecap manis that hits all the right notes. The **Beef Rendang** is equally stellar, with melt-in-your-mouth beef simmered in a rich, coconutty gravy layered with aromatic spices like lemongrass, galangal, and turmeric. Both dishes are authentic, hearty, and deeply satisfying. However, the absence of **coffee** on the menu is a noticeable miss. For a spot channeling Bali’s cafĂ© culture, skipping java feels like a missed opportunity—especially for those craving a post-meal espresso or a creamy iced latte to round out the experience. That said, Little Canggu remains a must-visit for its stellar mains. Also no outside food and drinks allowed★★★★☆

Food wasn’t up to our expectations - went here because it had 5 stars and really good reviews. Putra’s Ayam Meal - barely had chicken “strips” and was mostly battered veggies. For someone who loves salted egg sauce - this is close to no sauce at all. Beef Rendang - nothing close to authentic rendang. The serving size looked big
not until you see that a lot of it were potatoes covered in rendang sauce. Nasi Goreng with Vigan longganisa - the fried rice didn’t taste like an authentic nasi goreng. The combination is more Filipino - should’ve been called silog. The vibe of the place was nice + the staff were really friendly too.

According to social media and vlogs, this is a must try. However, the place has major weaknesses. For starters, their ordering system makes no sense. It is a restaurant and not a stall, so waiting for the number to be called and get your food is quite confusing. They have enough staff to bring the food to the tables and avoid guests to stand up and get their food multiple times, also considering that the drinks counter and the food counter are in different places. There are cheaper places that offer table service. Also in Bali. Second painful note, is the use of oil. The restaurant clearly re uses oil too many times and the food (heavily fried for the most part) has a gross exhaust oil aftertaste. Which is a shame considering that the menu is interesting. Lastly, warning for all non-cilantro people out there: the food is packed with cilantro so you need to tell “no cilantro” while ordering. I think there should be at least a warning in the menu on the presence of such spices. Usually, for example, waiters ask if guests have any food allergies etc, but since you need to order at the counter, it’s your responsibility. All considered, this is a decent restaurant with some things to adjust, but definitely not worthy...

Place is nice and ambiance is good but it was too hot to stay. Decided to grab some lunch together with friends prior going back to manila and place was too hot and there were no electric fan placed on their Al-fresco dinin given there were no moving wind in the vicinity. Serving took so long i guess we waited for an hour to get our food so I hope the owner will consider putting up ceiling fans or even stand fans for their al fresco dining if they are planning to make their customers wait for that long for their food to be served. 🙂

Food wise, ordered their Bagnet guling, thought it would be a bit of crispy since Babi guling in Bali is crispy but it’s okay. Serving is okay. I was hoping to taste a bit of Bali in La Union but i was disappointed.

Hoping that they can give a little bit more of balinese authenticity in their cuisine since they are promoting Balinese food.

If I would recommend it to you? Yes, I would. If I would go back again? No, unless they put up fans or improve their food.

No hard feeling just an...
