Our first day for merienda we ordered nachos. It took quite a while, the chips were stale and chewy, the ground beef was enough for 4-5 chips scoop. The salsa was the same. It was more olive oil than tomatoes. Literally was swimming in olive oil - tho somewhat tasty. We asked for fresh chips and it was another 20 or so minutes (note: there was only about 4 other tables that had 2-4 guest at the table. We were only 2 at our table.
The chops came back crispy, but still stale. It was warm so I’m lead to believe it was heated up either in an oven or fryer.
We came down for dinner later on and was surprised the amount of food and it was tasty. I ordered the chef’s special Crispy Pork Sinigang and my partner ordered the chicken katsu bowl. Both bowls were heaping with food and it was delicious.
Next day we came for breakfast, it was descent, good variety. The fruits were warm and they can out of milk for the cereal so one of the guest decided to use the cream for the milk (which already had barely any left)
The pineapple and strawberry iced tea run out before 9am. We advised the staff, and the breakfast ended at 10am - no juice refill.
We came back for merienda at 4pm. My partner ordered a brewed coffee with COLD milk on the side. Coffee came, watered down, and HOT milk on the side.
I ordered hot water and buko pandan. 25 minutes later, I followed up on my buko pandan order just for the server to advise me that they had opened up for coconuts, and there was no meat inside of it so they gave me coconut juice instead (on the house).
We came back at 7pm for dinner and I thought I would try the chef’s special from the night before. What a DISAPPOINTMENT. My partner ordered Spaghetti Bolognese with extra sauce on the side. The server ask the chef for the extra sauce on the side and we were advised they cannot provide extra sauce on the side because everything is proportioned out in the back. I asked if they could make the extra sauce and we were advised that it takes time to make extra sauce So having extra sauce on the side is not an option.
So then he placed an order for a burger, and the server came back advising us. The burger is not available.
So he ordered the Katsu Dawn bowl at once again and ask for an extra egg, and received three eggs (which I guess isn’t bad)
I ordered my chef’s special pork sinigang again. The ball was half full this time. It had half the vegetables and have to eat from the night before. The Port was definitely not fresh and it was very dry even with soaking it in the synagogue soup. I showed a video from the night before what the synagogue ball look like to the server and I advised that this is not the same amount from the night before, and she said there was no eggplant that came in so there was no eggplant in my sinigang. And yet I still get charged for full price for 1/2 the meal which by the way took over 30 minutes (both our meals) to arrive to our table. There was literally 2 other tables (1 with 2 people Who already had food) and another table that had a family of 3.
We noticed 3 other tables with 2-6 guests came and left as service was slow.
I think we will stick to breakfast and find other places for lunch and dinner and merienda.
Our server Jen, for both nights was lovely. She was attentive...
Read moreGood Friday dinner is mixed + and -. They have movie night outside but rained and stopped playing it. Dinner was BAD. Waited 45 mins (or more). People look frustrated already. Seems they are understaff. Servers asked 2-3 tables if what he was carrying is their order. You should know this! Tables are left unclean, asking for plates and bill once is not guaranteed. I have to ask again. In the end, i have to go to the cashier myself and get the bill and pay right away so we can go back to our room. What's strange is that there was no supervisor or manager who looks after the operation. Seems they did not prepare for the surge of in-house guests. please add more staff on this high-season. You have corkage for outside food but your in-house restaurant cannot provide on time service. I was closed to ordering Jolibee and pay for the...
Read moreWe had breakfast buffet here at Salt yesterday, and unfortunately, it was disappointing. We arrived quite early (around 8 AM), yet the place was already full. There were only a few plates left and no juice available.
I got garlic rice, chicken tocino, beef steak, salad, siomai, and omelet. The food was just average, nothing special. Surprisingly, the highlight ended up being the salad, which my wife prepared herself from the bar, and that was really good.
When I went back for a second plate, there were still no plates available, and the juice remained unfilled. I asked the wait staff about it, and they explained they were understaffed because of the long weekend.
Food: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Overall: 3/5
I hope what we experienced was just an isolated case, and that service would be better on...
