DO NOT GO HERE. Honestly the worst experience of my life -
The staff are very kind but the Australian owner was an awful man - boasting about how he’s fired 39 members of staff in the last year, constantly interrupting our food and berating the staff which I find absolutely disgusting.
The pizza that he boasts about was terrible the base was thin and burnt like a pita bread, meaning none of the toppings were cooked properly.
$2300 pesos for a salad a pizza two glasses of wine and a draught beer (my partner couldn’t even finish it as it tasted so rank, the lines clearly haven’t been cleaned in a long time.)
The only reason we paid the bill is because we were concerned about how he would treat and blame the staff if we walked out.
A few days later we met a couple that has also eaten there and had an awful experience and found out he had told them he made his money in fashion, whereas he told us he made it as a builder before moving to the Philippines. Either way I wouldn’t trust the man as far as I could throw him, as someone that has worked my entire life in hospitality I find it repulsive that people think that they can treat their...
Read moreI ordered Lapu-Lapu fish and my wife a Chicken & Veg Pizza. The fish arrived after around 20 minutes. It was the smallest piece of fish that I have ever been served and it was 998 PHP. I complained to the owner who just laughed and said that Lapu-Lapu was the most expensive fish in the Philippines at PHP1,200 per kilo. My portion was barely 100 grams (0.1 kg). Well after I had finished eating, which my wife insisted I did before it got too cold, her pizza arrived around 60 minutes after ordering. To be fair, the pizza was excellent with a thin crispy base. The restaurant was not at all busy so it was a complete mystery why it took one hour for one pizza to arrive. The establishment does not seem to be very well managed at all. There was discernible friction between management and staff. It is a pity because this place could be so...
Read moreWe thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the World Traveller's Restobar. You can tell the food is chef prepared from the quality of the ingredients, to the flavor, and the presentation of the food.
I ordered the Aussie Pie , and it was everything it was cracked up to be. Flaky. buttery, puff pastry crust, seasoned Aussie beef, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, Aussie Peas with onion, and roasted onion cups filled with more gravy.
It was one of the best meals, I've had in the Philippines. Chris gave us a small sample of the lamb they were preparing for that night, and it was melt in your mouth tender.
I can highly recommend the World Traveller's Restobar. Chris is spot on with his hospitality. I look forward to our next meal...
