Went to get a "quick" breakfast here. Instead we got served after 1 hour and the newer guests who arrived after us got served food after only 10 minutes. They only have 1 server and the female server is also the one doing the grilling. I don't mind self-service since it's the norm in La Union, but their utensils were dirty, they have no service water and nobody is changing the water dispenser, lastly the soup percolator was empty. There were customers walking out because no one is getting their order.
We ordered Bagnet Dinuguan, Kare-Kare Bagnet with add-on sisig. The sisig was generic store bought and tastes really sour almost spoiled. Kare-kare portion is good but the sauce tastes too sweet. Bagnet isn't crispy.
Lastly, we bill out. Coffee and resto food is separate but the GCash owner is the same, so I had to go to the 2nd flr just to pay the coffee separately. Sent the GCash payment of our food at 1st floor and when asking the cashier to confirm the payment he instead gossiped his friend ignoring us for a whole minute instead of assessing our payment. Talk about being bastos...
Will never recommend or go back here, should've ate at Silong Cafe restaurant...
Read moreWent to this place with the hopes of finally satisfying my cravings for some good, fatty liempo but I was met with a rather distasteful experience. The ambience was dull and the fact that it was humid around the area doesn't help it.
The staff weren't at all hospitable and were going around as if it's their first time serving. We had to ask for follow-ups multiple times for our order and the server walked up to me rudely saying they've served everything, when they in fact, did not. They use the numbering system for the orders but the staff seem clueless about how it works.
For the food, I had their "sizzling" liempo, which was served in a plate a little but hot but it was definitely not sizzling. Their liempo was so bland which was surprising since the place is called "herbs n' spice", their sisig was weirdly sweet, and the bagnet kare-kare's sauce was weirdly dry. Also, I found it really weird that we had to pay an extra 10 pesos for bagoong???
Overall, it was a pretty bad experience. I would...
Read moreIf you're a fan of fresh seafood, the seafood platter at Herb n Spices La Union is a must-try. Served chilled, the platter offered a delightful variety of the ocean's best, including succulent shrimp, plump oysters, tender scallops, and rich crab legs, all perfectly complemented by a tangy sweet salty sauce.
The freshness of the seafood was evident with every bite. The shrimp had a satisfying snap, the oysters were smooth and briny, and the crab legs, while a bit tricky to crack, were well worth the effort, with sweet, juicy meat inside. The scallops, cooked just right, melted in your mouth with a subtle sweetness.
Overall, it was a well-balanced experience. If you're craving a taste of the sea, this platter will not disappoint. Whether you’re dining with friends or treating yourself, this is the perfect dish to share—or not!
