I had a great dining experience at Aida's Chicken in Manokan Country - Bacolod 3 months ago. I was totally impressed of how great tasting and affordable their grilled chicken there. So before going back to Bacolod tomorrow, I decided to visit Aida's branch in Makati Cinema Square today. Paintings hang on the wall caught my attention. I don't know how it is related to Aida's Chicken. Breast??? Maybe Chicken Breast (Pecho).
So instead of ordering their famous grilled chicken, I decided to skip this and ordered Pork Nilaga. I was too excited for this dish as I knew how generous Bacolodnon serve dishes.
Order arrived. The dish comes in a big bowl that is good for sharing by 2-3 persons. Using my ladle, I checked what was beneath that generous nilaga soup. To my surprise, there were only 3 chopped bones with less meat attached and 2 pork skins without meat, all fats. Like Seriously???Is this how you serve Pork Nilaga here??? Much soup, more bones, less meat??? I was extremely disappointed with my order. It's definitely not worth the price. With that price, I could have generous serving of meat in a soup from Bacolod Chicken Inasal.
Customer service was worst. The lady server went back and forth to my table to check if I'm ready to order. Like more than 4 times. That would be okay if she asked in a polite manner with a smile on her face BUT hell no! She looked at me as if she was killing me inside her head because I'm still browsing their dirty menu.
To the kitchen chef, I heard you asked the server if I'm from Bacolod or Manila and the lady server answered that I'm from Manila (maybe because I spoke Tagalog without visayan accent that time ) Is there a different serving between taga Bacolod and Manila? If that's the case, then poor Manileñans if you served them that poor quality Pork...

They have a great selection of Ilonggo food, with Kansi and Chicken Inasal as their bestsellers.
The chicken is tender, juicy, and flavorful all throughout, with the authentic inasal flavor. It's served with rice, but with the size of the chicken they serve, be prepared to order extra.
The kansi is made with batwan as the actual souring agent. You will definitely fish out a few pieces when you order this. The beef that their serve in the kansi is a good mix of different cuts, from bone to litid. The combination of flavor and sourness is enhanced by the tinge of spiciness when you sip this soulful comfort food.
Their runners up include their Grilled Bangus, and Crispy Pork Liempo. The portions are large and even their Executive Meals are good for sharing.
The only downside is that it takes a long time for the food to be prepared, sometimes up to 30 minutes depending on how much you order. They will also serve everything all at once, which probably contributes to the delay.
They have a great ambience with magazines in one corner of the restaurant for reading, and nice paintings hung on the wall with unique themes. This is in contrast to their appearance outdoors, you would pass it by because the facade is very basic and nondescript.
You will definitely fulfill up Ilonggo food cravings here and eat until you're full at a...
Read moreMy three friends and I had dinner here, and we ordered four chicken inasal (paa) since they said the pecho was out of stock. Two of my friends also ordered extra rice, which cost 40 pesos each. The chicken inasal was priced at 215 pesos each, including soup and rice. When we calculated the total, it should have been 940 pesos. However, I paid 1,000 pesos, and the bill indicated 985 pesos. They gave me a change of only 15 pesos. Later on, I realized the computation was wrong—they overcharged us by 45 pesos, and I have no idea where that amount went. On top of that, the service was terrible. There were many staff members, but they were lazy and unaccommodating. When we asked for water, they served it in a pitcher that was only half full, and they didn’t even...
