The tenderloin dish was recommended by a friend, so I took it.
It was very thinly sliced, about one layer of meat on the dish, overlapping slightly. 745 pesos. The rosemary and garlic gave it flavour. Seasoning was just right. All the pieces were well done, the waiter who took my order didn’t ask how I wanted it so I’m guessing this is the usual way it is served.
There was a lot of oil, despite dipping the focaccia in some of the oil, there was still a good amount of oil leftover which shows just how much oil the beef slices were swimming in.
Flavour is just ok, nothing to write home about, nothing to rave about too, a little underwhelming. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish. So many other restaurants do tenderloin way better.
The service was excellent. Jay the server was a true professional: both attentive, friendly and polite. As soon as my knife accidentally fell on the ground, he was picking it up in a second. He brought napkins, alcohol to wipe my hands and toothpicks served on a small plate with another napkin.
If the tenderloin was as good as the service, I would have given this 5*
I will return and revise my rating after I try more dishes. The food rating is only for the tenderloin.
One more point: the photo of the tenderloin dish shows a lot of garlic. The dish that was served had about 30% of the amount of garlic shown...
Read moreCibo Bimbi Powerplant Mall is the outlier in the glamor and design other Cibo branches has. Being inside in a mall that caters to a more affluent crowd, I expected the atmosphere to be more top notch. But it felt like a glorified food court at best. Given that it’s in the middle of a design that feels disconnected to the whole Rockwell vibe, I am disappointed at their deisgn. It doesn’t feel welcoming compared to open concept Cibo’s which are also available on Uptown Mall and Robinsons Magnolia.
Though the quality of the food is still standard, I would like to take this opportunity to give the highest praise to Ms. Chell for being the most patient and accommodating server. May she be an example to what Cibo is known for, their unwavering hospitality. Special mention to Sir JP too, for making my short...
Read moreEmployees are very comforting and welcoming. This menu has become my comfort food for life as the variety is versatile for my family’s preferences. Their tomato soup is my all-time favorite over other tomato soups. The chunks of tomato and bread inside the soup warm and hug my stomach like a blanket. Sometimes they don’t have the chicken liver pate, which is disappointing, but when they do have it, it is one of their most delicious appetizers. The price is worth it for the taste and flavor of the food. I’d recommend this restaurant to others because the location is near a large toy store and the arcade, which makes it the best place to eat lunch or dinner after or during a great hangout...
