A Hidden Gem in Makati - Saglit by Flower Ranch Cafe

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Saglit by Flower Ranch Cafe in Makati, and it was nothing short of a delightful experience.

The Matcha Latte was a perfect blend of creamy and earthy flavors. The matcha was of high quality, its distinct taste shining through without being overly bitter. The latte was smooth and frothy, making each sip a treat.

The Coconut Mocha was a revelation. The rich, robust flavor of the mocha was beautifully balanced by the subtle sweetness of the coconut. It was a unique and refreshing take on the classic mocha.

Saglit, by most standards, is likeable. However, like many cafés that have recently popped up, it falls into the familiar trap of prioritizing aesthetics over substance. It’s one of those "Instagram-first, taste-later" spots, where the primary appeal is how photogenic or "instagrammable" the place is, while the quality of the menu often comes as an afterthought—sometimes a hit, sometimes a miss, and at worst, utterly forgettable or lost.

The combination of a flower shop and a café is a creative concept, and I appreciate the use of dried flowers to decorate their cups—presumably flowers that didn’t sell. Their menu is intriguing, but being "interesting" shouldn't be limited to appearance, names, or themes. The real test is in the taste, and that's where Saglit could improve.

Their take on Matcha was not that spectacular for someone who likes Matcha. Furthermore, their Lavander Espresso tonic was okayish but not that grand.
