Shakey's Pizza Parlor — Restaurant in Makati

Food is good (i.e. same quality as other Shakeys branches); service is bad (compared with food services in general).

Restaurant wasn't full, but the table we were offered was obviously not prepared for new customers. My companion wanted to avail of some Supercard Gold offers, yet the staff and manager argued against the promos' conditions and wanted to push for their own promo policy that wasn't what the Supercard Gold card indicated (e.g. Supercard Gold says 20% off discount, but they insisted it's only 10% despite it clearly being said; also they insisted that the birthday promo is valid only during the actual birth DATE, despite the website saying it is for the entire birth MONTH).

After that, we received terrible service. Other patrons were prioritized, our pizza arrived very late (also the pineapples on the hawaiian were noticeably cold even though the pizza itself was hot), I only got 1 refill on my bottomless iced tea; I was ignored when I tried asking for a second refill. It was a terrible experience to have enjoy a birthday date — especially when the staff took extra effort to serve the other (bigger) group (well, syempre priority ung mas madami, noh?).

Only guy who knows good customer service is the security guard.

That said, I guess you can get better customer service experience from their takeout/delivery. We do not look forward to, plan to, nor will recommend our friends / families / acquaintances / enemies to visit this branch for dine-in...

Shakey's will always have a special place in my heart because it's the pizza place I grew up with.

It may no longer be my top-of-mind for good pizza when dining out because we're spoiled for choices with places like Crosta(#32 in Top 50 Pizzas in Asia), Gino's, a mano (#48) and the like.

But, when it comes to pizza delivery especially with my Shakey's card, Shakey's reigns supreme. With their Buy 1 Take 1 offer which starts at P345 for an 8" Manager's Choice plus your choice of any of the following: Truffle Cheese, Cheese, Garlic and Cheese, Pepperoni, Hawaiian or Beef N Onion plus P109 for the 1.5 liter of Coke, you've got a bargain. I normally get the large thin crust. This time, I had large Scallop Primo Pizza at P639 with a free Hawaiian plus P109 for the Coke totalled P738 for a meal good for 4. Not bad at all! The good memories it brings along... PRICELESS!

Shakey's levels up with its new ROAST BEEF PIZZA, tender and succulent slices of beef amped up with a douse of the accompanying ROSEMARY AND MUSHROOM GRAVY. Super good!!

Does not inform customers properly regarding current promos and discounts and when they do, the customer has already paid for the amount they did not planned on paying. Their staff does not have compassion and “they’re just doing their job” in taking the customer’s money .

Their customer service team that tries to de-escalate their issues are a joke. Does not really show concern they just want to “fix” their problems in treating their customers like a number.

This is the reason their menu is lack luster and expensive to even compete with other food establishments and why Shakey’s is almost extinct in its own country, namely in the US.

They should re-evaluate what “customer service” means and not just “an issue they’re trying to fix.” Clearly, their objective is just make money out of people without even showing real value why they’re still around in the...
