Chowking — Restaurant in Malay

Horrible experience. Ordered a simple two Siopa, waited a ridiculous 20 minutes, and when they finally buzz me, there is only one! Now they want me to wait ANOTHER 20 minutes for the other siopao! So 40 minutes total? It’s 12 noon on a Sunday, lunch time, and they don’t have siopao ready? Avoid this unhealthy, MSG saturated place. My friend went out to a siopao place in SM market and came back in 5 minutes with two siopao.

Finally, after 45 minutes (I swear to god), I went up with the buzzer and receipt and showed the manager, and all he said was “sorry sir” and told someone to fill the order.

And then, once we got the siopao, they were laughably small! See the photo I took, they are almost bite-size! The siopao at 7-11 are twice the size.

The people here evidently understand the concept of “fast food”. How come SM vendors can have siopao ready and warm at all times, but this place considers it a “special order” only made upon request? Forget this place, avoid the stress and hassle. Evidently the workers here are (hard to believe) too stupid to even work at a...

Uncomfortable Service Experience

This was my second visit, and unfortunately, both times I encountered the same uncomfortable behavior from a particular staff member. From the moment I arrived, he kept staring inappropriately and making subtle comments to his colleague. Even while I was ordering, the attention was intrusive and unprofessional. It’s disappointing to see this kind of behavior in a customer-facing role.

Service aside, the food was underwhelming. Portions were quite small for the price, and the halo-halo was mostly ice with very little flavor — definitely not worth the cost.

It’s surprising that management hasn’t addressed this yet, especially given how consistent the issue has been. A bit of basic customer service training would go a long way here.

Bad service. Waited over 17 minutes for 3 items and some water, the food is still not ready yet. If this was ANY location in metro manila, the staff would have already served the meal after 5 minutes.

In addition I as a foreigner was shortchanged by ₱105 and was not provided a receipt. When I asked for my receipt I was then given it and pointed out to the cashier I was missing ₱105, at which point she coughed up the missing cash.

The service here sucks. I will never come back again. If you are foreign COUNT YOUR CHANGE, THEY MIGHT BE STEALING...
