I tried Onward Cafe one morning for a to-go order. The place has a cozy vibe, and there are outlets if you need to get some work done while enjoying coffee. I ordered a Spanish latte and a white chocolate mocha.
There were only a few people when I arrivedāsome had their drinks already, others were still waiting. It took about 30 minutes to get my order, which felt a bit long since it wasnāt too busy??.
Iām someone who enjoys checking out different coffee shops, and Iāve had both white chocolate mochas and Spanish lattes many times before. Usually, I love themābut this time, both drinks tasted really bitter and almost the same. The mocha didnāt have the sweet, chocolatey flavor I expected, and the Spanish latte didnāt have the creamy sweetness Iām used to from the condensed milk.
Maybe there was a mix-up with my order or forgot to add the āsweetenerā, or maybe it just wasnāt a great day. But really not the usual taste as it supposed to!
I didnāt really enjoy the drinks, but I did like the kouign-amannāperfect!
Itās a good spot and could be perfect for others, but personally, I donāt think itās the right...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt usually leave reviews, but being a cafe that serves my favorite drink of all time, I think Onward Cafe deserves it!
Drink-wise, they have a number of selections, my favorite being the Upside Down Cali Oat (spanish latte + oat milk + himalayan sea salt cream) š Itās my no-fail order every. single. time. Itās done consistently in every order, and you can really taste the quality!! Iām personally picky when it comes to the quality of my coffee, but Onward is on the very top of my list
Onward is also a tried-and-tested workable space. They have strong wifi + sockets conveniently in pretty much every seat (the co-working table has sockets underneath). The cafe has a very pleasing aesthetic + a clean comfort room, too : Bonus is their playlist that I look forward to hearing ācause I like their selection of music!!
Onward is THE...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually head out to find a nice cafe. I heard this one is close to my place, and I stopped by for coffee after church before work. When I walked in, it was packed (which makes sense since itās been raining for a few days). At the counter, the guy seemed a bit off, like he wasnāt really in the mood to take orders. Maybe he was just tired, but it made me feel a bit unwelcome. Their menu had a different name for a latte (which is usually my go-to), so I asked him which one was their latte. He answered in a bit of a snappy way, so I just said, āAlright, Iāll take that.ā I didnāt want to let it ruin my day, so I moved on. The vibe was okay, not like your typical cafe. The coffee was super strong - itās nice at first, but after a few sips, itās a bit much. And the music? It felt like I was in a club! But hey, itās just not my...
