Beanleaf Fort Santiago — Restaurant in Manila

I have to be honest, I was pretty disappointed with the food, especially considering the prices. The café latte (180 pesos) was very bland—it honestly tasted like mostly water with just a touch of coffee. It felt more like an 80/20 water-to-coffee ratio, which didn’t justify the price at all.

As for the chicken fillet with fries (185 pesos), I was also let down. The chicken portion was really small—almost like they served half of the original size. It was cold when it arrived, and the breading was separating from the meat, making it tough to chew. It honestly felt like it had been prepared the day before or a leftover from yesterday. Rude/unprofessional staff. We were waiting to order a coffee, the staff at the counter was only counting money. After waiting for 30 seconds, I asked "Can i order a coffee?" No answer - the staff just ignored me and kept counting the money. Couldn't be bothered to even give an answer. After some seconds, I asked again "Can I order here?" The staff answer? "Wait". Lmao. I even waited another minute silently, they were still counting money. We then left without ordering anything.

We arrived at this destination after visiting Fort Santiago. There was a special for milk tea. One one and the next is free. We thought to give it a try. We were greeted well and served accordingly. With any time, we were given our electronic beeper to collect our drinks when the beeper went off. The place had a good AC system. The place looked clean. There is also a sitting area upstairs but we sat downstairs. The milk tea tasted great. No one came to try to scam us as others have said. We enjoyed our time in peace.
