I recently dined at Botejyu and would like to share some observations that I hope can help improve the dining experience.
Ambience & Cleanliness The restaurant would benefit from more attention to upkeep. The floors felt sticky, some wood panels on the walls were broken, and even the menu had an unpleasant smell, which affected the first impression. A cleaner, well-maintained environment would make the experience more inviting.
Menu Design The menu is very large and overwhelming. While it shows variety, it raises concerns about the freshness of ingredients since not all dishes may be fast-moving. A more focused, streamlined menu could help customers order more comfortably while ensuring higher food quality and turnover of ingredients.
Facilities The restroom needs improvement—it had an unpleasant smell reminiscent of BioResearch, and the hand dryer was not functional. On top of this, the air-conditioning inside the restaurant felt inadequate—it was nearly as humid indoors as outside. Improving ventilation, cooling, and restroom upkeep would greatly enhance customer comfort.
Food I ordered the katsu curry. The egg was not scrambled in the traditional Japanese style, parts were still white, and the curry sauce portion felt insufficient. It also lacked spice, and I had to add chili powder from the table. A richer, more balanced curry sauce and better egg preparation would make the dish more authentic and satisfying.
Service On a positive note, the service was commendable. Staff responded promptly to requests and were attentive throughout the meal, which I appreciated.
Overall With improvements in cleanliness, menu presentation, facilities, and food preparation, Botejyu has the potential to deliver a much better dining experience. The service team is already doing well, and aligning the rest of the dining aspects with that level of quality would make a...
Read moreSecond time eating at Botejyu, first was at Sm Sucat Still 3 out of 5 Tonkotsu ramen really on the milky side, I just couldn't get that tonkotsu pork bone broth feeling I get when I order and eat tonkotsu from other ramen restaurants like Ramen nagi and yoshuken at molito. The pork charsu on their ramen doesn't compare to servings from other ramen houses, bite size servings a la bacon squares and feel more like liempo cutlings. Food is nothing special at their price range of over 350 at most dishes. Pork charsu again bite size servings of around 4 or 5, feels like liempo. Food is served on a wide but shallow bowl making it look like a generous servings but the rice portion itself is only a cup or just over a cup, the other half portion of the bowl is just lettuce.
at around 350+ per meal, food is not generously served for the taste. I rather go and order 2 servings at tokyo tokyo, may not be as tasty but at least I'll get satisfied with the serving takoyaki while tasty and flavorful is still overpriced at around over 260 for 6 small to...
Read moreBotejyu: A japanese restaurant best known for their okonomiyaki and okosoba. ❤️ Food was served in less than 15 minutes. Servers were really friendly and cheerful. They have their own bathroom which is a plus. Overall, ⭐7/10
Sukiyaki Beef Yakisoba: I found it very flavorful and quite tasty at first but it became too salty in the end. ⭐4/10
Bacon & Cheese Takoyaki: There wasn't much flavor. Cheese was 👌 but the bacon was as big as my pinky finger. 😅 Not the typical takoyaki that I know. ⭐3/10
Prawn Tempura Platter: Shrimp was big enough to make you full. But the sauce didn't have the raddish so it was a little bland. ⭐7/10
Pork Belly BBQ Rice Bowl: The meat was marinated well. It comes with a salad on the side which is also good. I recommend adding the okonomiyaki sauce and the garlic ichimi spice powder (only if you want it to be a little spicy) which can be found in the condiments set on your...
