Went to get the afternoon tea set with my friend a month ago and I'm only leaving a review now.
The pastries were quite good, though they were cold. It's normal for sweet desserts to be cold or room temperature so that wasn't an issue, but savory pastries are usually served warm, right? It was a bit jarring biting into the mini cheese tart and getting a mouthful of cold cheese rather than warm, melted cheese.
And as for the tea, you get like two teabags for the teapot and a two containers of milk and syrup. I noticed that the teabags they used are the same brand that I use at home haha. Not a problem, just an observation. What I did find a bit disappointing though was that you can only get refills of hot water and you have to use the same teabags that you get in the beginning. The initial pot of tea is great, but each time you want more tea, it gets more and more weak and bland because you're steeping already used teabags.
Though I say all this, I did enjoy the food! The pastries were both beautiful and delicious and the tableware was all super pretty. Just wish there was a bit more thought put into the aspects mentioned above. But considering that the set was only ₱850 while other places that offer afternoon tea go for around ₱2000 and above, it was acceptable.
The area was very open and had glass walls which made it feel nice and spacious. But this had the downside of making sounds just bounce and reverberate off the glass which amplified the volume as a result. I noticed that the cafe got VERY loud when fully packed. The volume was a surprisingly loud considering that there couldn't have been more than 25-30 customers inside at the time. It was to the point that my friend and I could hardly hear one another even though we were only sitting across the table from each other. We had to almost be yelling to understand each other. I think that Aperitif could do with some interior designing that incorporates sound-absorbing materials such as booths, dividers, or maybe even curtains that could help with this issue. Loved the aesthetic and styling of the place, just hoped for better acoustics.
It seems like I made a lot of complaints, but it's more so just constructive criticism. I really did enjoy my time here, the vibes were great and being with a good friend definitely helped, but the experience could still be...
Read moreWe ordered for takeout since we saw that there are lots of people inside (thinking that it would be much faster)
I was 3rd in line at the cashier when I got there, placed my order and waited. Around 5 mins, the person in-front of me at the cashier earlier got her food already served.
But 30 mins passed ( standing the whole time) my order is still not ready, since the pantry itself is visible Im checking if mine is already being prepared but no. Around 4 - 5 orders went out and I know that some are for the people behind me at the line for the cashier earlier.
I was going around the store watching how are prepared, one thing I noticed that the lady in black asked something at the cashier and they are looking for someone ( And I think it was me, since the person infront of me got her orders already), I tried to smile as a signal but they did not notice me.
I also saw how the receipts are on top of each other and then the lady in black placed them side by side ( I was shocked since I saw mine was 3rd on the queue which is not supposed to be that way)
I then approached the cashier kindly “Hi, can I follow up on my order”, her face was confused. On her side was the woman in black who is preparing all the croissant suddenly answered me rudely and coldly “May pila kasi”. I just said okay since her face us somehow mad. ( they did not even ask what did I order or who I am on the list lol)
I waited for another 5 to 10 mins to get my order of 4 take out croissants, 1 cake, and my iced coffee with its iced already fully melted.
The croissant was great, the coffee was meh due to the ice already being melted waiting to be served.
The staff are not even concerned with the wait time of their customers or even bothered to apologize.
Suggestion for improvement Hire more people especially on the bread section Prioritize take outs since they just literally need to put them in boxes (unlike dine ins that they head the croissants for some minutes) Be nice to people asking for follow up since it means they have waited far too long Learn how to advice customers on...
Read moreI was so excited, as I have been planning to dine at their MOA branch because of its aesthetically pleasing place and salivating choices of food, particularly their pastries there, but it turned out to be a very disappointing and worst experience ever. We ordered crookies (croissant chocolate cookies) and matcha white cookies. The crookie costs PHP 165, and the matcha cookie is PHP 185. The place is too small, and at the time we were ordering, there were no available seats for us, so we decided to take out our order. But as I was getting our order, I saw a table near the window that was already available and called my partner to just have it there since it would be a hassle for us to eat the food while walking. Since we were able to dine in, we added coffee and another cookie to our order. When we were eating, my partner told me that his matcha white cookie order tasted like raw fish, and I thought that he was just joking around. But he handed me the cookie and asked me to take a bite to confirm if he tasted it right. When I took a bite, I immediately tasted the raw fish he claimed it to taste like, and I was even about to puke with its taste, and it even smelled like one. I told my partner to address it to the staff, as maybe it could be some old stock or whatever it is for it to taste and smell like raw fish. When he came back to our seat, he said that the staff just said, "Sir, ganyan talaga lasa ng matcha cookie namin e." I was so mad, as if we don't know what a matcha flavor tastes like. I admit that I am not a matcha fan, but my boyfriend does, and he knows how it tastes, and it would never taste like a raw fish nor...
