Embarking on a gastronomic adventure at Sentro 1771, nestled within the contemporary landscape of Capitol Commons, is a truly delightful experience that any food lover should not miss. Renowned for its rich offering of authentic Filipino cuisine, the restaurant merges traditional flavors with innovative execution to offer a delightful culinary experience.
Upon entering, you're greeted with an interior that's as beautiful as it is inviting - a testament to the intricate melding of tradition and modernity that Sentro 1771 embodies. The attentive staff, always on hand to guide you through the restaurant's extensive menu, also adds a touch of warmth to the whole dining experience.
A journey through the Sentro 1771 menu is an exploration of Filipino cuisine at its finest. From sinigang to adobo, the chefs here have a knack for incorporating a twist into classic dishes, yet preserving their authentic Filipino taste. Their corned beef sinigang, a unique interpretation of the traditional sour soup, is an absolute must-try. It exemplifies Sentro 1771's approach, merging a classic Filipino comfort food with an innovative element that elevates the dish to a whole new level.
Other standout dishes include their crispy pata and sisig. The pata, tender on the inside, crispy on the outside, is a delightful crunch of texture and flavor. Meanwhile, the sisig offers a perfect balance of sizzling tanginess and savory delight. And of course, no meal is complete without a sweet ending – the leche flan is just the right level of sweet, and incredibly creamy. The menu is indeed a curated selection of the best Filipino dishes.
However, despite the culinary delights it offers, there is room for improvement. For early diners who are fond of breakfast options, the cut-off for their morning menu may prove disappointing. While they do offer a substantial lunch and dinner selection, the limited time for breakfast restricts the dining options for those who prefer an early visit. Extending their breakfast hours or providing an all-day breakfast selection could make the restaurant more accessible to a wider audience.
Overall, the experience at Sentro 1771 is nothing short of excellent. With a few tweaks, specifically in their breakfast service, this restaurant could potentially become the go-to place for all meals, not just lunch and dinner. The heart of Filipino cuisine beats strongly in Sentro 1771, and for that, it earns a solid four-star rating. Highly recommended for those seeking a culinary adventure through the rich and diverse landscape of...
Read moreWhen we arrived at Sentro Capitol Commons, the kids got so excited when they saw there's an Avocado Shake Topperboard displayed on the table. I ordered immediately for them. The staff said " Sorry po not available. :( It's merchandised on every table inside the resto but I let it go. I just then ordered food and drinks then mango shakes for the boys. When our drinks arrived, I asked why no mango shakes served and the staff realized he missed writing them on the order sheet :( . My preschoolers were already restless so I asked the staff to have it done and served. After almost 40 mins of waiting for our lunch, I followed up the food and they told me the Boneless Chicken BBQ was not yet ready so I asked them to just serve whichever of the 3 dishes were ready. The Kare-kare tasted like a cross between Kaldereta and sinigang, karekare with sour taste? :( I was also excited to try Naked Lumpia with Vietnamese crepe and was sooo disappointed that there's no taste of Banh Xeo or Viet crepe at all. Pure lumpiang hubad with 2 thin flakes of cooked batter. I was looking for the crepe stuffing or at least the flakes should be thick enough so it can be used as wrap. I cancelled the boneless Chicken BBQ as we were half way through with lunch. The manager approached us , apologized and offered the chiken for free . It was a good recovery but we were already very disappointed as that was supposed to be a preschool moving up celebration. I also wondered what made the wait too long as the two small sticks of chicken fillet were thinly...
Read moreMy daughter had a birthday dinner here with our whole family last night and we did not like the experience.
POOR SERVICE: They are known for poor service and I think they want to maintain this reputation. As you can probably guess, staff are still unfriendly, they do not smile at all. If this is because they are tired, during the time that we dine, only few tables were occupied so baka dahil lang they want to live up with their “not-so-good reputation.” Dahil gusto ko ang food nila, iniisip ko na lang challenge yung pagkain sa kanila everytime. The waiter served us a burnt turon and when i commented, “parang nasunog yata?” Her reply was, “ganyan po talaga yan.”🤔
OVERPRICED/VALUE FOR MONEY/ 5 pcs of small GG is Php400++! same with the rest on their menu. They charge extra for the refill of sinigang broth (buti pa sa Manam, free lang). Okay lang sana kung served with a smile but no!
SLOW SERVICE: food were not served at the same time, all at once and had to wait 15 mins or so before another food is served. and if the you and the kids are hungry, you’ll eat what’s on the table already. So tapos ka na kumain saka pa lang dumarating yung ibang order.
Overall, for the price of their food the least they can do is to give a very good service. Actually, we don’t even have to request for it, that...
