We weren't able to eat everything so we had our leftovers packed for takeout. When we arrived home, the chicken chops had HUMAN HAIR. It couldn't have gotten there just during the packing of our leftovers, but most likely as early as the prepping of the batter, as the hair strands already formed part of the cooked batter. We had no choice but to just throw it all out.
My sister already saw one strand in a slice of chicken chops before we left the restaurant, but we chose not to raise it with the staff anymore, as we were the last customers and they were already preparing for closing. In hindsight, we should have told them.
If not for this unfortunate experience, I would have rated this branch a 3/5 because (1) the staff were warm and attentive, (2) the restaurant was generally tidy (although there was a fruit fly / small flying insect), and the food was generally okay naman.
This was our first time in this branch. It wasn't our first choice to dine at, but the restaurants we preferred no longer accepted dine-in customers an hour before closing. Too bad this is how our experience turned out.
I hope they'd be more mindful next time, as this oversight is definitely a dealbreaker for any food...
Read moreWe tried a variety of dishes, starting with the iconic Xiao Long Bao, both the original and the shrimp version. While both were delicious, the original stood out as our clear favorite—bursting with flavor and perfectly balanced. The fried pork with rice was divine, with spices that told a culinary story all their own. The stir-fried bok choy and pork buns rounded out what can only be described as a truly memorable experience. Also the tea were great choice to try with the meal.
After spending some time wanting to try this spot, we can confidently say that Shi Lin exceeded our expectations. It’s the kind of place you want to return to—not just for the exceptional food but for the warm and attentive service. A must-visit for anyone who loves Taiwanese cuisine!
From the moment we arrived at Shi Lin, we knew we were in good hands—quite literally! Our server, Hand, made us feel welcome with friendly and attentive service, and the convenience of generating our own order was...
Read moreI ordered Shang Long Bao (around P290) and Shrimp & pork fried rice (around P300). The shang long bag is tasty; however, there's no much soup on the dimsum. You need to be careful in getting the dimsum or else the wrapper will get torn. The fried rice was good. I like the rice that they used. The texture is very different compared to the usual rice we eat at home or other fast food. I also ordered Red Bean Bun (P145) for take out. My will was around P720.
The service was okay. The staff are attentive and courteous.
The atmosphere is nice. It was quiet. There are many tables and can accommodate up to four persons per table.
As for the price, it's on the mid high price range which is justifiable with the quality food and service they provide. I will definitely go back and try their...
