An honest review. We went there early for their 12nn opening. We were about to skip this as there’s no other people lining up unlike other similar restaurants where close to opening, you could see eager people lining up awaiting for its opening. However, we gave them benefit of a doubt that maybe they are not yet known, hence the reason why there’s no other people lining up.
We were entertained at 12:15, which is 15 mins late of their published opening hour. After 10 mins, that is the time that we were served with appetizers. After 10 mins, that is when the meats are served. We saw that it is still being cut, there no marinated meats either. There are only 3 staff that time, one is doing the serving while the two is in the kitchen, cutting the meat, the other one preparing some orders. (Recommendation: if you are understaffed, you could put meats, sidedish, rice in the counter, and just let the people get one, it will be more efficient that way)
Orders are tad slow, meats served are few, like 4 or 5 slices each, pork belly is very small, hence the need to order time and time again. We would ask like 4 pork belly and we will only be given 2 slices only (our group consist of 6). We have to always follow up our orders. One thing that is worst is that they don’t have cold water as they ran out of ice from last night. They could have arranged for ice delivery before their opening so they could provide cold water. There are no tissue, when we repeatedly asked, they gave a bathroom tissue. No tissue in the bathroom also.
For its price, in my opinion, there are better restaurants for your...
Read moreFirst off, Kapitolyo parking is always a pain, so be prepared to circle the block a few times. Once you're inside, even if it's packed (which it usually is), the staff is super helpful and attentive. Seriously, they're on top of things. The service is surprisingly quick, and they’re really good about changing out the hotplate regularly, which is a big plus. We went for the ribeye set, and honestly, you get what you pay for. It's a decent meal, but let's be real, Shabunoki isn't trying to be a high-end steakhouse. The ribeye was a little on the tougher side, so don’t expect melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. Think of it more as a fun, casual dining experience rather than a steak connoisseur's dream. One cool thing is that they're pet-friendly! However, I'd definitely recommend bringing a stroller or carrier for your furry friend. The floor can get a little oily, and you wouldn't want your pup slipping and...
Read moreWe ate last Sunday around 10PM. Only few people were dining, this is the first time we tried Shabunoki Pasig, we always visit Macapagal, Pasay Branch (we liked this branch). 11:30 PM they ran out of gas, staff were switching to charcoal which doesnt really help since their tables I think is designed for gas. We decided to bill out but the manager (i think) insisted that they will do everything to make the charcoal work, but we lost our appetite for waiting too long. Food: I only like the premium meat it taste fresh specially the beef, shrimps served are already peeled though too small (+3 point), scallops quite fresh. Shabunoki has been our go to place since 2021, I even promoted them to friends and colleugea, but I think without the good management, they are losing their glory days. Hope they will...
