Ye Dang used to be my favorite restaurant when it used to be near Metrowalk, they also used to use a pot of charcoal for their grill. But since then, they have gone through new management, have moved to Estancia, and their menu has changed. When they first opened up in Estancia, it was still pretty good even if their meat has changed (their chadolbagi was much thinner and they now have thinly sliced pork belly). Their pajeon and soondubu was also really good. They still offer charcoal, but its upon request and they only put one big piece on the grill (which is good enough as you could still taste it). However, the past 3-4 times we wanted to eat there, the staff mentioned that they didn’t have charcoal so we ended up not eating there anymore. They should really bring back the charcoal as standard for their grills, as that was what made their food good and different from other kbbq restaurants...
Read moreYedang was one of the first Korean restos that immersed me to Korean food. We frequented their Ortigas Home Depot branch back then so I was happy to see them in Estancia.
Food was still good. However, the service was disappointing. The staff who took our order missed to add a dish we ordered. We waited for more than 30 mins, followed up, and that’s when we realized the staff made a mistake and our samgyeopsal order wasn’t fired (we didn’t opt to grill the meats on our own). Another staff requested to have it expedited so we waited about 10min more. But the disappointing part is that we didn’t get any apologies from any of the staff.
We lost our appetite a bit as some of the food had gone cold (especially the rice) as we waited for the samgyeopsal.
Dishes I’d recommend are the pajeon and any of their jjigaes (we like...
Read moreThis is now my favorite Korean restaurant. Ate here with my SO last night and did not disappoint.
The samgyeopsal, bulgogi and Donsam Enoki and they were all so good! The banchan itself is top notch. The kimchi is to die for and I find myself addicted to it - it has the right balance of sweet, spicy and tartness (I can't wait to try out and recreate their recipe from home as I've been making kimchi myself).
The price is just right and I will be dining here again pretty soon. I just wish they would sell their kimchi in jars for home use.
I will try their bibimbap next.
Oh, the place is nice and clean, the staff are friendly and attentive. I prefer these over eat-all-you-can samgyeopsal as Yedang provides more authentic and higher quality Korean food (I've...
