During my recent visit to the Philippines, my family took me to the Causeway Seafood Restaurant in Quezon City, and it turned out to be a delightful culinary experience. This Chinese restaurant is renowned for its extensive and delectable dim sum selection, and it certainly lived up to its reputation.
We were a large group of over 20 people, yet the restaurant staff managed to accommodate us seamlessly. The service was impressively fast; our food arrived so quickly that I barely had time to snap photos before diving in. It's a testament to their efficiency and dedication to providing an excellent dining experience.
We ordered an array of dishes, each one more delicious than the last. The dim sum options were plentiful and mouth-watering, with everything from siomai to hakaw being served fresh and hot. Additionally, we indulged in buchi and almond jello lychee for dessert, which were perfect endings to our feast. The buchi had the perfect balance of sweetness and crunch, while the almond jello with lychee was light and refreshing.
The ambiance of the restaurant was lively and welcoming, making it a great spot for family gatherings. Despite the busy environment, the staff remained attentive and courteous, ensuring our dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish.
If you find yourself in Quezon City and are craving authentic Chinese cuisine, I highly recommend visiting Causeway Seafood Restaurant. Whether you're there for a quick bite or a large family gathering, you won't be disappointed by the food or...
Read moreComfort food haven. 1. Discount. People come here mainly for its very affordable yet succulent and full of flavor dimsums. At 2 to 5 in the afternoon everyday, their dimsums are sold at discounted rates! My wife and I would almost always order just the dimsums. We would pair our ordered dimsums with hot aromatic house tea and cold glasses of water. 2. Salt and Pepper Spareribs. These mouthwatering pork ribs are crispy on the outside and tender when you start biting on to it. 3. Steamed Lapu-Lapu is served fresh and its sweet dark sauce is hot. You may have the fish's bone removed by their skillful server. 4. Peking Duck. Now, this dish, I think, is only available in Causeway Banawe branch. If you order the whole duck, you may request for it to be served in 3 ways (in 3 types of dishes). 5. Polonchay Tofu with Mushroom in Abalone Sauce. I think this is one of Causeway's premium dishes because of its very tender tofu in thick dark sauce sprinkled with thin mushrooms and leafy vegetables. This dish is flavorful.
Causeway has many other dishes which are also good if not at par with those that I have mentioned. My family really love this place not only because of its food but also its spacious space, big tables, and...
Read moreOur family’s Easter celebration wrapped up with a late lunch at Causeway, a traditional Chinese restaurant known for serving some of the best dim sum in the metro. The classic bean curd roll didn’t disappoint—though noticeably smaller than I remember from years ago. I went for my usual favorites: hakao and siomai. We also ordered Yang Chow fried rice, chop suey, and chicken in lemon sauce. Of course, hot tea was served as part of the experience.
If you’re craving traditional dim sum, this place hits the spot. While we only ordered a few dishes, none particularly stood out beyond the usual favorites—they were good, just nothing extraordinary. Still, with so many Chinese dining options around, Causeway remains one of my top picks—especially over spots like North Park, David’s Tea House,...
