Ridiculously overrated.
Service is excellent and goes beyond than expected. They offer drinks and iced tea for those queueing for a table, too.
While interiors are nice, acoustics are terrible! It was super noisy that it takes an effort to have a decent audible conversation over a meal. Waiting area is dirty though. They donāt regularly clean up the mess or at least the other guests donāt bother about CLAYGO.
No parking!!!! You either park on the street or pay a ridiculous fee of P60 at a parking space, a few doors away! What kind of restaurant has no parking?? So this may not be EASILY accessible for PWDs & Seniors or at least there will be some difficulty in accessing the restaurant since cars are parked in front of the resto. If you park at their neighbor, walking on the street also doesnāt feel safe bec thereās no sidewalk. Youāre literally walking on the gutter of the street.
Food is definitely overrated. Servings are just relatively bigger than other restos. Taste wise, it isnāt even that oh-so-good!
Not worth it for 2 diners. We ordered: Summer Salad - read from reviews that it was good, but it was a complete disappointment. They use a vinaigrette dressing then they also used sour mango bits and sour strawberries. It was a sour mess! Truffle Pasta - again, a lot of people recommended this. Truffle smelled good, but not enough truffle was used and was not seasoned well. Take note, they used penne for this which greatly subdues the overall truffle cream sauce. They shouldāve used spaghetti/spaghettini/angelās hair instead. Calamari - also recommend, and it was just meh. Marinara sauce doesnāt complement the calamari tbh. The white sauce was just ok. The calamari was laid on a bed of nachos with cheese drizzle, too. So, you could say they somehow used a filler. Ube Latte - the menu only shows 1 option which is iced, but i was asked if I wanted it iced or hot?? So weird. Anyways, this was good. Only problem is they used the wrong length of straw. The straw would only leave an inch for you to stir the latte and the bendy part is even submerged into the drink. Total Bill was 2K+ for 2 diners and the 3 dishes + 1 drink.
Take note that this is a fusion restaurant. Not a purely Filipino restaurant. Saw some review here claiming they were balikbayans and loved the Filipino food here. Iād rather bring a balikbayan elsewhere tbh.
Overall, itās a restaurant I wouldnāt come back to nor will I bring a guest to this restaurant.
On a lighter note, maybe Iām just not the target market of this restaurant. Maybe this is meant for big groups who donāt really care about food taste & quality or for those who only wanna eat here...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the chance to revisit Filipino cuisine, and overall, the experience was a solid one, with a few things I think could be improved. First off, the foodāspecifically the sisigāwas absolutely bomb! The flavors were spot on, and the sizzling plate arrived hot and sizzling, just as it should. The crispy texture, combined with the rich, savory taste of the pork, made it a true standout of the meal. Each bite was full of that smoky, savory goodness that you expect from a well-made sisig. It really hit the spot, especially after being away from Filipino food for a while.
Now, while the food was great, I do have to mention the wait times, which were pretty intense. I understand that the restaurant can get busy, but during peak hours, the wait was a lot longer than I anticipated. It really took away from the overall dining experience. I think one solution would be to implement a policy that limits table time to 2 hours during rush periods, especially on weekends or busy evenings. This would help manage the flow of customers and reduce overcrowding. If the restaurant makes this clear to patrons upfront, it would allow guests to agree to the timeframe, and they could then serve more people in a fair and efficient manner.
Another thing Iād suggest is to allow customers to book reservations more easily or have a better way to handle the waitlist, especially during peak times. It can be frustrating to wait longer than expected, particularly when youāre craving food that is as delicious as what this place serves.
That being said, despite the long wait, the food was definitely worth it. After being away from the Philippines for a while, this meal brought me a little piece of home. Thereās just something about enjoying local Filipino dishes that hits differently, especially when youāre thousands of miles away. The flavors and the warmth of the food brought me right back to those days spent eating at home or in the heart of the Philippines.
Overall, Iām really happy to have had the chance to eat local Filipino cuisine again, and I would definitely come back for the sisig and other dishes. The food is undeniably delicious, but if they could manage the wait times better, it would make the entire experience much more enjoyable. If you're in the mood for authentic, tasty Filipino food, this spot will definitely satisfy your cravingsājust be prepared for a bit of a wait...
