My partner celebrated his adult birthday party here. We really thought that their package was worth it, but on the day of the celebration, to our surprise, there was only one staff member in chargeāthe host. There wasn't even another staff member to assist with the games or music. The host single-handedly did everything with the help of a single phone for the music, which she could not fully manage, as it became clear that multitasking while hosting was not manageable.
We appreciate the host, considering she was the only staff member at the party. However, we must admit that she was not skilled at hosting, as the party felt very dull. I couldnāt even imagine a lively atmosphere at a children's or baptismal party with the performance she delivered. She couldnāt even manage a lively greeting. Even during the games, it was us, along with our guests, who made the effort to keep the party lively by throwing punchlines and bringing energy. We did our best to ensure everyone enjoyed the party, to the point that, most of the time, the host seemed to be simply listening, unsure of what to do or say next. With her dull and unengaging hosting, my partner, the celebrant, had to step in and do some of the talking to engage the guests. He was even the one who explained the mechanics of the games, even though they had been coordinated directly with the host an hour before the start of the party. He had to grab the microphone from her to fill the awkward silences. If we had known what kind of host this branch had, we would have asked some of our guests, who were great public speakers and social butterflies, to do the hosting instead.
There were two staff members outside the function room, just beside the entrance, who prepared the food. After preparing it, they did nothing to assist the host. One was scrolling through her phone, and the other was found sleeping/napping. I asked them if there was anyone else who could assist the host, who was managing the music and facilitating the games. They told me that only the host was assigned to the party. I explained the situation to them and pointed out that there should have been at least one other staff member to help. However, none of them proactively stepped up to assist, even though they were just standing around.
After an hour and a half, the food still hadnāt been served, even though it was supposed to be served earlier. The party was only scheduled for 2 hours, yet the two staff members still hadnāt done anything to serve the food. They didnāt even ask us when the guests would be eating, even though the party was nearing its end and we were all busy trying to keep the event enjoyable for everyone. When I spoke to them again, they said that the contract specified the food should be buffet-style and not served. However, it had been clearly coordinated days before that the food would be served, not buffet-style. Either way, they should have asked if the buffet would be open, considering the host was too busy doing everything inside the function room. Also, during the buffet time, the host had to assist with dishing out the food, and even I had to help because they didnāt proactively offer cutlery. There were fewer than 30 people at the party!
Additionally, since I had spoken to the two staff members outside twice, I started to observe whether they would do something before the party ended while I still tried to engage in the event. I saw a staff member in a black uniform who seemed to be the branch manager. He went upstairs near the function room. Disappointingly, he was only two steps away from the door, peered into the party for literally a minute, and then went back downstairs.
Again, we appreciate the host, but she really isnāt suited to be a host. Frankly, the staff and the whole branch cannot pull off a party in the same way Jollibee or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHaven't been to a Kenny Rogers in a while and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food in relation to the reasonable price. Lots of new menu items to try. I think this branch used to be a car showroom as it was unusually big and spacious, with a high ceiling and a loft for additional seating. All in all, it contributes to a nice ambience especially during lunch rush hour when I actually observed the store fill up to the rafters. The cavernous location didn't feel cramped at all even with all the seats occupied. I was still able to work on my laptop unperturbed as i was in a small table beside a nearby outlet. Was really in the area for a medical check-up at nearby Capitol Medical where parking is notoriously difficult to find. This Kenny Rogers, a short walk away from the hospital, has relatively ample but paid parking, I guess precisely because of the dearth of parking spaces in the establishments along Quezon Avenue. They do allow 2 hours of free parking, though, provided you eat there and have the stub validated at the cashier....

Just a few steps from Delta is the newly constructed Roasters. Huge dining area with great seating spaces and sofa couches all around.
The second floor is also big enough for group dining or just you and your date.
The atmosphere inside gives that relaxing feeling appetizing you for the main course. The ventilation and air-conditioning inside is just the right amount of coldness not to turn frozen stiff nor your cooked food arctic iced.
Easily accessible parking with good ramp inclination from the main road making my car not touch the pavement. Patrolling security personnel are very visible and does not wait for any tip for assisting you out and back to the bumper to bumper Q.Ave. traffic.
Easily accessible halfway restaurant for those wanting to quickly get away from the slit-your-wrist traffic bound for QC circle.
Let me tell you, stopping here tonight with my date for a bite and a quick night cap is worth it.
An order of american barbecue for...
