Highly recommended: beef brisket ramen (generous servings of very tender beef and soothing, not-too-spicy broth), torched beef inari sushi (huge portion! 1-2 is filling enough), spicy salmon maki.

Good to try, but may rethink about ordering again: spicy salmon nori fries (the batter became soggy quite fast, so eat it quickly), chicken chahan (nothing outstanding, and I wish the rice was hotter when served), chicken yakitori (too sweet for my liking, not enough char)

Takeout (not in picture): spicy salmon aburi tasted great, but they forgot the japanese mayo/special sauce :(

Small, hole-in-the-wall type of space, bar feels with local and japanese beer on the menu (didnt order, cant review that), small tables and kinda close to each other, but they have a very small al fresco area if you prefer it. Service was great! All 3 waitresses who attended to us were super nice and attentive. All in all would come back for a quick but...

I was pleasantly surprised when Nomiya Izakaya was recommended to me. I've heard nothing but great things about this simple, hole-in-the-wall dining spot. Sure enough, when we headed for an impromptu dinner, the place was packed but we didn't have to wait long! The small dining area can hold barely 20, and the interiors sparse, but it's really just the backdrop for the real stars of the evening, which is the food. We ordered Crispy Salmon Skin (forgot the exact name), Magic Mushrooms, assorted Sashimi platter, Chicken Chahan, and Gyudon. The prices were reasonable given the hearty serving size, and the quality of the food served was definitely beyond expectations! We look forward to coming back to Nomiya, definitely as regulars. We were looking for a japanese restaurant and came across Nomiya by chance.

Our dinner was pleasant and I think there's a lot of value for money here, compared to Japanese restaurants in malls. The Salmon Aburi maki was good, spicy tuna salad was very generous in tuna and yummy! Not in picture, an oyakodon with miso soup, and matcha ice cream with red bean.

We arrived past 5pm and we were first there, and the place was filled quite quickly. I like the casual ambiance and the service was fast.

I paid via credit card. We were able to do street-side parking right beside...

Another unassuming and yet surprisingly good restaurant. I stopped at this restaurant out of curiosity. First thing I noticed was that the restaurant was locked from the inside. Another person from the outside had to signal to open up. Usually I would see This in bars. I got my table and ordered a maki, gyoza, mushrooms and beef tepenyaki. They were all good. Better than what I would have expected given it’s in the middle of nowhere. I would come back here for Japanese And yes the weird signaling system they have is because the place had been robbed before.
