Phở, the iconic Vietnamese noodle soup, is a dish that has gained worldwide popularity for its rich flavors and comforting warmth. Originating from the streets of Vietnam, Phở has become a staple in Vietnamese cuisine and a beloved dish for food enthusiasts around the globe. In this review, we dive into the depths of Phở, exploring its traditional roots, the art of its preparation, and the delightful experience it offers to those who indulge. Flavorful Broth: At the heart of any good Phở lies its soulful broth. Made by simmering beef bones, aromatic spices, and herbs for hours, the result is a complex and fragrant elixir that captivates the senses. The broth strikes a perfect balance between savory, sweet, and slightly earthy flavors, creating a base that is both comforting and deeply satisfying. Each spoonful is a journey into a world of umami, leaving you craving for more. Tender Noodles and Protein: The noodles in Phở are traditionally made from rice flour, giving them a unique chewy texture that complements the rich broth. These silky ribbons absorb the flavors of the broth, allowing every bite to burst with a harmonious blend of tastes. Accompanying the noodles are tender slices of beef, which range from rare to well-done, adding depth and variety to each spoonful. For those who prefer other proteins, Phở can also be enjoyed with chicken, seafood, or even vegetarian options. Herbs and Condiments: Phở is not complete without a variety of fresh herbs and condiments that add an extra layer of complexity to each bowl. A plate of bean sprouts, basil, lime wedges, and thinly sliced chili peppers is usually served alongside the steaming bowl of Phở. These additions allow diners to customize their Phở according to their taste preferences, adding brightness, freshness, and a touch of heat to the already delightful flavors. A Culinary Experience: Beyond just a meal, Phở offers a culinary experience that is deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture. From the bustling streets of Hanoi to the cozy family-run restaurants, the aroma of Phở fills the air, transporting diners to the heart of Vietnam. The communal nature of Phở, where friends and family gather around a steaming pot, creates a sense of warmth and togetherness, making it not just a dish, but a shared moment of joy. Conclusion: Phở is a culinary masterpiece that transcends borders, bringing the flavors and spirit of Vietnam to tables around the world. Its harmonious blend of flavors, tender noodles, and aromatic broth create a truly unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're a seasoned Phở enthusiast or a curious food explorer, a bowl of Phở is a must-try on your culinary journey. So, let yourself be transported to the vibrant streets of Vietnam with a steaming bowl of Phở – a taste that will leave a...
Read moreI went for take out today, between 4PM to 4:20PM. I ordered chicken pho, fresh rice shrimp and pork spring roll, fried shrimp roll, banh mi pork bbq, shrimp pad thai and watermelon shake that I drank there.
Receipt is missing the Pad thai when I was asked to pay so I reminded them that I also ordered Pad thai and they corrected it. Okay, no harm no foul.
Service was fast, when the server gave me the food in one bag I asked " Eto na po yun lahat? '' and he answered " Opo yan na lahat " and no it wasn't all of it, the banh mi and fried spring roll is missing. That's fine, I concluded that it was also my fault since I didn't check and relied on what was said to me, although it would have been corrected since I finished drinking my watermelon shake, which made me stay for 10ish minutes more after they handed the take out bag. But again, that's also on me ( I guess. Goodbye 295 and 210 (plus the packaging fee) pesos ) So I made my peace with it.
But what made me do the review is that the chicken pho given to me is actually a beef flank pho. The person who will eat it, who just came out from surgery ( can't go back since I brought the food to the hospital ), doesn't eat beef. That's why I clearly and loudly said " chicken pho po na large " then pointed at the chicken pho large on the menu.
It's negligence. Disappointing. I don't understand why a simple order like this got so messed up.
UPDATE:
Pho hoa reached out to me, sincerely apologized and refunded back the missing order. They also asked to visit the store again so they can redeem themselves. Kudo's the branch manager for being graceful and...
Read moreI recently had a frustrating meal at this restaurant. Despite placing my order promptly in a relatively empty restaurant, I encountered significant delays and inattentive service.
I initially ordered Pad Thai, Pad Kra Prao, Chicken Curry, and one rice. The green curry arrived as requested, but I received two cups of rice instead of one. After waiting for over 20 minutes without receiving the other items, I had to follow up with the waitstaff multiple times.
To my surprise, the waitstaff seemed to have completely forgotten about my initial two orders. It took an excessive amount of time for them to arrive, and even then, I had to remind the waitstaff again about the Kra Prao.
It was clear that the waitstaff had not been taking notes when I placed my initial order. This oversight contributed significantly to the delays and frustration of my dining experience.
While the kitchen staff appeared to be efficient, the delays were primarily due to the waitstaff's inattentiveness. It's unfortunate that the kitchen's efforts were undermined by such poor service, especially considering the lack of customers at the time. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for reliable and...
