However, it is worth noting that the air conditioning in the restaurant/bar area is not always working properly, which can lead to some discomfort during warmer days. Additionally, the food consistency can be variable, with some dishes surpassing expectations while others fall short. Despite these minor shortcomings, the service in the restaurant and bar is generally good. During peak hours, it is advisable to consider the possibility of longer waiting times due to potential understaffing. Next to the restaurant (Gourmet Bar) there is also a bar located next to the pool on the 6th floor. Personally, I recommend the gourmet bar for a nice meal, considering its quality and price. On the other hand, the Pool Bar is perfect for enjoying a drink or snacks while lounging around the pool area. Please note that bringing food or drinks to the pool is not allowed, making the pool bar an excellent alternative.

From check-in to check-out, my stay at this hotel was nothing short of extraordinary. It is, without question, one of the most well-managed hotels I’ve ever experienced—thanks in large part to the exceptional leadership of Hotel Manager Darwin, whose attention to detail and commitment to excellence are evident in every corner of the property.

Darwin runs this hotel with an impressive blend of professionalism and heart. You can feel his influence in the seamless operations, the motivated and well-trained staff, and the warm, guest-centered culture that radiates throughout. It’s rare to see such a consistently high standard upheld across departments, and that’s a direct reflection of his effective and thoughtful management style.

Service across the board was outstanding. Every staff member I interacted with—from the front desk and housekeeping to the restaurant and Lounge—was courteous, proactive, and genuinely welcoming. They didn’t just meet expectations—they exceeded them with ease.

The cleanliness of the hotel was flawless. My room was spotless, the linens crisp and fresh, and the bathroom gleamed. Common areas were equally well-kept, with staff clearly dedicated to maintaining a high level of hygiene and presentation at all times.

When it comes to safety, this hotel truly excels. Secure key card access, visible yet unobtrusive security personnel, and a well-lit, well-monitored environment all contributed to an atmosphere where I felt completely at ease, day and night.

One of the most memorable parts of my visit was the overwhelmingly satisfying breakfast buffet. It was a culinary experience in itself: beautifully presented, richly varied, and impeccably fresh. From made-to-order eggs and local specialties to freshly baked pastries, vibrant fruit platters, healthy options, and gourmet coffee selections, the spread was both indulgent and refined. Every morning felt like a special occasion.

The cherry on top was access to the Premiere Lounge, a true sanctuary with breathtaking panoramic views of the city. Whether enjoying a peaceful coffee in the morning or unwinding with a cocktail at sunset, the space was both elegant and tranquil. The Happy Hour was exceptional—premium drinks, delicious small plates, and an elevated ambiance that made it hard to leave. The Lounge staff delivered service that was simply over the top: attentive, personable, and intuitive, creating an exclusive, VIP-level experience with a personal touch.

Check in- Karren checked us in. She was nice, room was ready on arrival so that's a plus since we came in around 12noon so we got the early check in request granted.

Room- pretty clean although i felt that the beds got smaller, but that's just me. I sent an email with requests for extra pillows, water etc. We arrived at our room with just the standard room set up, none of the requests were ready so I had to call them up. Reservations for 4pax but only 2 towels, dental kits, robes, slippers, water were inside the room. Again, had to call for this. Vanity kit was not readily available, again had to call for q-tips. Shampoo/body wash/ brand changed but it was ok.

Swimming pool/playground area- some tiles are sharp. The spongy floor leading to the shower area was quite slippery. My son slipped, good thing nothing bad happened. The play area needs to be improved. The same slide was there since Novotel opened and should be replaced. No lifeguard on site on the two occasions we were at the pool area.

Breakfast buffet- Hostess was unfriendly. Did not even smile when we came for breakfast on both occasions, not even a halfhearted greeting. She looked annoyed when we asked for a different table on the first day. Nobody offered coffee or tea on the table. So different from our previous visits. The corned beef has a lot of red food color, got scared to try it because it was terrifyingly red. Chefs were unapproachable too, i was standing in front of the taho station and i was quite sure the chef saw me but did not offer to help me get some so i just left.

Kids Club- my 2 kids went to the kids club on arrival. Lots of kids, the hostess at that time was nice. Quite confident to leave my kids to her. Second time i left them, my eldest registered them and ipicked them up. The person manning the kids club did not even stand up from where she/he was seating, no greeting, no thank you.

Overall- my kids love staying in hotels, so that's why we travel all the way to Novotel since the place is so conveniently located. However, the staff are so undertrained that the basic greetings to guests is something they are having a hard time doing. Plus, we informed our preference BEFORE arrival and was expecting it to be ready in our room but none was done. You are using OPERA system, its so easy to have this noted on the guest's profile. We are 4-5x repeaters, no card nor any greetings from the hotel. I think this shouldbe a program that you can start to attract more repeat guests.
